Ever since our youngest son moved to a small beach town in Ontario, it’s almost like having a cottage. Every weekend we drive up to visit and enjoy life in cottage country. Simple pleasures of walking along the shore feels luxurious: a treat for the senses and so invigorating!
Blue and white, being my favourite colours for the seaside and by coincidence–or perhaps subconsciously choosing these shades that harmonize with the sea, sky and clouds–I notice I do wear blue and white frequently when I go to the lake.
Summertime always means going to the beach for some fun day trips and weekend getaways. Here are a few of the beaches from three of our Great Lakes.
Even while visiting family in Germany, I happened to wear this navy top with white starfish and white wide-leg linen pants.
The sight of water evokes romance in my mind. I still have a dream to take a cruise on the Love Boat. Dancing on the Love Boat would be devine! Perhaps a canoe or kayak would do, reminds me of The Notebook when Noah took Allie on a little rowboat. Remember the boat scene? *sigh* I guess I’m just a hopeless romantic. Are you?

Hi Carmen, I am sure it really feels ingivorating, being able to walk along the shore nearly every weekend! I think your choices of blue and white is spot on for the seaside. The Zara linen top with the jeans looks so nice for a walk along the beach. Also your dress choices for the beach are really good for strolling along. The navy star top with the white pants is a very pretty look . I am a romantic as well Carmen! I so love the hallmark movies or any good romantic movie. “Blue-ti-ful” as always! But, eek!! Sitting on the beach in white pants?? My luck I’d sit in some tar or something!! lol In college, I did ruin a new pair of jelly sandals, because of the tar on the beach. And my friend carried all the way back to the car. It was romantic, but I thought we were only friends. Why didn’t I recognize he loved me, again?? ❤

Blue and white just goes so well with the sea side or lakeside. With such wonderful lakes around you, perfect really. The Starnberger See is nice too, my sister lives around that corner, so it is always a lovely outing when I see her. That is the closest I get to the seaside… 🙂

Indeed, the Great Lakes are fantastic! I enjoyed my holiday in Germany so much and it was my first time going to the Starnberger See. I have been to the beautiful Bodensee (Lake Constance as we call it). Memories to cherish!

Blue and white is a combination that I love and also that pretty basic of jeans with a white top. You make it wonderful by adding that beautiful blouse and shirt. I like your necklaces and your bracelets playing with that turquoise that is so yours.
And it makes me happy to see many of those old photos, especially the one of the white dress on the beach, which is part of the post that we made four hands, of our story of friendship and complicity.
And, of course, I love to see you so beautiful in all the photos.
