Blue Mountain Village

Blue Mountain Village is a little tourist town by Georgian Bay near Collingwood, a very popular ski resort in winter but there are also interesting things to do in summer.

Once upon a time, there used to be a thrilling summer attraction on the mountain, The Great Slide Ride. We’d take our children there in the summertime to ride up the mountain on the ski lift and get in a little cart and whiz down the mountain on the windy slide. It was pretty scary and apparently dangerous, they closed it in 1998.

There are also caves to explore, hiking trails and of course, the beach. Blue Mountain Village and Collingwood are by Georgian Bay. Wasaga Beach, the world’s longest freshwater beach is only about 10 miles (almost 17 km) away.

My favourite place to shop is Madison Clothing Boutique which I discovered on our vacation in Collingwood last year. They have two locations: Collingwood and Blue Mountain Village.

Madison Boutique carries very unique clothing lines from Italy, LA, USA and Canada.”

This time I bought a blue lace blouse, two pairs of pants made in Italy and a new pair of non-leather sandals.

When we arrived home from our weekend getaway, our youngest son surprised us with a delicious gourmet dinner, especially for our anniversary. Our granddaughter baked us a decadent vegan cake!

Never stop saying I love you to someone you love!

Thank you Jodie! I do love supporting small businesses and during these past few months, it’s so important to help our economy. It makes me very sad to hear about people who have invested so much time and money in their businesses and now have lost everything. We had planned a trip to Texas but that won’t be happening this year. However, we are enjoying day trips and weekend getaways in sunny Ontario! 🙂

I love your posts in which you talk about places and towns near your residence, those posts that make me discover all the beauty of Canada, my great dream. And I love your look, your beautiful blue blouse with those filigree fabrics and that beautiful design. And I love your white pants, without a doubt the color with which I always imagine you. You look really beautiful in the photos, each new post increases your attractiveness, age is your ally.

What wonderful words, “…age is your ally.” Your comment made my day! I prefer wearing white jeans than blue jeans. 😉 I will be wearing white jeans again in my next post.

I’m so happy you enjoy my posts and that you are interested in seeing my corner of the world. Canada is so vast, I have only been in Ontario and Quebec. I do love southern Ontario. My dream is to take a train across this beautiful land someday. I have traveled through many States and Central America, and I have seen more countries in Europe than places in Canada.
