The bike and hiking trails are endless; walks through forests and along the river paths are plentiful. Conservation areas and inner-city parks are within driving distance of anywhere. I love nature and enjoy the serene beauty of the scenery: from simple forest paths to grand mountain trails. (No mountains in our neck of the woods, but I have gone wandering in the mountains in Germany and Austria, and the rolling hills of Scotland.)
My grandson showed me a trail (in Cambridge, Ontario) meandering through forests, over streams on little bridges and going under the largest highway in Ontario (401). We enjoyed a bike ride along this beautiful, peaceful path. It’s good to get off the beaten track, travel a road less crowded.
My orange folding bike–made in Germany–is so practical, I can fold it in half and throw it in my little blue VW Beetle.
There’s no air fresher than in the forest, the fragrance of cedar and pine is intoxicating!
I’m wearing my pink polka dot capris, very practical for biking. We used to call them pedal-pushers in the 60s because they are perfect for biking; they can’t get caught in the chain when you ride a bike. I bought two pair, my other ones are gray polka dots.

Terrific photo of the sky. We have many print photos of sunsets…first one direction and then the other direction on various beaches …..so many photos of sunsets that for several years we have simply photographed them with our visual senses!

Thanks for another comment on this post Bob. My capris look pink because the polka dots are teeny tiny white dots. You’re quite right about the sky and sunsets, every day God paints a fresh scene across the horizon and so there must be billions of photos taken since cameras were invented. The real thing is always the best and it’s good to enjoy the moment and be amazed with the wonder of it all.

I definitely agree, when it comes to the air being freshest in the most untapped locations of human intervention, such as a forest.
The last time I rode a bike leisurely, I fell over forward, did a front flip and was dragged on the pavement for about 5 seconds. LOL. It hurt like heck and my buds were all laughing. Lol. I still have the mark on by my rear delts, and the accident took place about ten years ago.
I like riding ATV’s. It is truly something special when you encounter an open road

I actually stopped riding bicycles, not due to the accident. I was never in a predicament where riding ever came up. My brother has this beautiful Honda Shadow motorcycle. He sent me a picture and It gives off this Captain America vibe. I love comic books and with the military background, I connected the bike, my brother and Steve Rogers. LoL

Great pictures. What a beautiful place to go bike riding. Most of my bike riding is done it the Fall. I love riding my mountain bike on the city bike paths and putting on lots of kilometers while I check out the Autumn colours and get some good exercise. Of course, hopping on my one speed fold up bike at the cabin and putt putting my way around can be very relaxing too. I like the one speed bike cuz it puts me in the mind set “I’m not in a rush to get anywhere.”

I’m sure I know the trail….if so, we have walked it…..a little tense around the 401 with all its traffic as you walk along at the base of the embankment for a short distance.
In spite of the mystical sky, the trail and the bridge indicate a dry and hence no mud splashing on your fashionable attire.
Yes, I spotted the turtle.

Yes, Bob, you know this trail, the part under the 401 has the roar of thunderous trucks and traffic overhead as you pass under, but only a short stretch. The rest of the trail you’d never know you were surrounded by two cities: Kitchener and Cambridge. I stayed dry, made sure not lean too far over the bridge. You spotted the turtle! Ha ha! 🙂

I have loved biking for many years now Carmen, ever since I lived in the Scottish Highlands and used a borrowed bicycle to get some fresh air, exercise and take in the stunning scenery! I had no idea there were folding bikes though! How sweet … I love it! Great post. You look very cute and stylish.

Carmen those pictures are stunning. I love bike riding too, but not in town here , that is a bit suicidal, but as soon as I am in the green co very enjoyable. Also I rode to the Olympic park and t is big and beautiful by bike. It is great to cycle together! Have a lovely weekend !

Thank you very much dear Ute! I don’t ride my bike in the city, inhaling all that stinky car exhaust is so unhealthy as well as dangerous, some crazy drivers on the road! I prefer bike paths: safer and more fun, especially when out with my grandson.

What a nifty bike! I never knew such a thing existed.
I recently had my bike tuned up but I live in a crowded city and don’t enjoy riding in the street. I need to get it out in the country more but that would be about an hour drive.
Funny, we are from the same era and I owned many peddle pushers but never thought about the name relating to bicycling. How did I miss that???

I agree, riding on busy streets in the city is not much fun. A folding bike would be perfect for you since you have to drive quite far to go biking.
