Auld Lang Syne

New Year’s Outfit: something old, something new. New bodysuit with lace on neckline and cuffs from Hudson’s Bay (perfect for dancing because it stays tucked in). Lace skirt is about 10 years old with happy memories of the past.

Something you may not know about me is that I am hopelessly romantic, sensitive and sentimental with a love for nostalgia.

Robert Burns had no idea when he wrote his poem in 1788, that it would become a traditional song, echoing all around the world on New Year’s Eve.

It has been sung thousands of times on the big screen and recorded on albums, from little Shirley Temple to Bing Crosby, in movies like It’s a Wonderful Life, An Affair to Remember, When Harry Met Sally and Elf.

As another year has come to an end and a new one has begun, let’s remember the good days and the blessings, let’s look forward to new opportunities and fresh starts every morning.

“There’s a reason your windshield is bigger than your rearview mirror; where you’re headed is more important than what you’ve left behind.” unknown

In sweet accord, we thank the Lord,

for old times’ sake,

Dear Carmen, any attentive follower of your blog knows that you are a romantic and nostalgic person, and I, as you can guess, I know him perfectly and I love him. Your skirt is cute, has a fabric that falls in love and an elegant and very feminine design, therefore, dressed by you, it is a marvel. The top is also delicate and beautiful, and is a very yours, very Carmen. In the photos you are beautiful, something obvious, but I can not help but highlight it, because it is something that never decays, it always increases. The neckline of the top, so delicate, is a small treasure that over you becomes “the treasure”. You owe me a dance …

Thank you so much Jess! I can understand that tall people might have trouble with bodysuits. Romantic movies and Christmas songs are two of my favourite things! It’s the reason I love shopping at Christmastime to hear Christmas music. And watch a Christmas movie every evening, even when I come home late from my dance classes.

Blessings of health and happiness for 2018!

Thanks so much dear Terri! I’m happy we met too! Hallmark movies are the BEST! They remind me of the classics from days of yore: romantic, uplifting and always a happy ending. We are watching “Royal New Year’s Eve” tonight.

      Happy New Year blessings!

      • Hi Carmen, as I browse my tv (when I get the chance with 4 kids!) I often stop on the old black and white movies where I check out the gorgeous dresses the ladies wore and how well the men dressed too. I think I belonged in that era! They also spoke in proper English . A royal new years eve seems a cute movie! Have a nice day Dear, hugs, Terri xo.

Thank you so much my dear Melinda! It can be a bit of problem with keeping all my mementos and memorabilia, I think of myself as a collector of tangible memories. I know they are temporary and will all stay behind when I leave this planet. In the meantime, it makes me smile surrounded with happy memories!

2018 will be another year of collecting memories!
Make some new memories and enjoy God’s blessings!
