Meeting Joni
One of the joys of blogging (as any blogger knows) is meeting a fellow blogger. It’s an exciting experience to finally come face to face with someone you’ve gotten to know through blogging.
There’s a happy nervousness and anticipation as you wait in the place where you have decided to rendezvous. At least that’s how I felt when Joni and I arranged to meet at Drizzle and Shine, my daughter’s eco boutique in Seattle.
The setting: Jean’s delightful shop, a perfect place for fashion bloggers to meet. I’m already there and checking my hair in the back room, you’d think I was going on my first date!
Entrance: A tall, gorgeous woman walks in and instantly I have a smile from ear to ear and feel the thrill of meeting a movie star. Joni is elegant and gracious. Of course, we need a photo to verify this special occasion. Her A-line olive tunic is made by Elegantees and I’m wearing my favourite dress/tunic made in USA.
Elegantees is a wonderful company with a mission. Designed in New York City and sewn in Nepal where women are paid a fair and living wage. Take a look what they are are doing to help survivors of sex trafficking in Nepal.
“Our Mission Statement: To provide hope to survivors of sex trafficking in Nepal. A positive source of income that reinforces independence, a healthy self-image, and confidence restores lives one elegant tee at a time.”
Looks like so much fun!

I follow Joni from my blogger principiuo adventure. She is a very smart woman, but with a very personal and courageous style. It is also a great artist, and design proposals are beautiful, I love their shirts. See you next to it is a great joy, why are two of my favorite bloggers. In the photo, both of you are beautiful.

Thanks for posting about your blogger meet-up. I’m glad my store served as your meeting point. It’s so fun to meet online friends IRL, especially fellow bloggers!

Oh, I loved seeing this first thing this morning with my coffee!! I felt the same way meeting you. It is a thrill! I brought my sister to Drizzle & Shine yesterday. I walked by that outside seat, in the rain, and wished the warm sun was out just like it was that fun day.
Jean has a wonderful eye for style, plus offering pieces with a meaning behind them. I’m learning all of this for the first time and it’s really changing my thinking. I’m excited for her!
Have a wonderful week Carmen. Hugs!

The pleasure was mine Joni! Thank you so much for supporting fair-trade and eco fashion and telling your sister about Jean’s store. We can dress in style while helping the workers of the garment industry. Vote with our dollars, we can all make a difference.
I hope to be back in the new year and look forward to meeting up again!
Hugs and best wishes!!

Thanks for supporting my shop, Joni! I enjoyed meeting your sister yesterday and had fun chatting with both of you.
I’ve learned a lot recently and it’s changed how I shop. I’m happy you’re learning too and excited about how to support ethical fashion!
See you soon!
