My daughter Jean hosts and attends Clothing Exchange parties in Seattle. On her recent visit, she brought me this lamé jacket that she knew I’d like. Fits like a glove and I love it! It’s shiny and lightweight. This jacket is a very soft, pale shade of silvery gold and is neutral to wear with anything.
I’ve paired it with white for a sunshiny, summer look.
Hi, that is a perfect jacket. I keep turning to metallic again and again. There was a clothing exchange party that I knew about but didn’t go to. I believe, anything that wasn’t exchanged was then donated to a woman’s shelter. It was an annual things but they didn’t have one this Spring so I don’t know what happened.

What a cute jacket and great clothing sway find. I’d love to go to one of those, but have never heard of anyone hosting one.

Hi Carmen!
I have never been to a clothing exchange party, but it sounds like a great idea. Fun too! I do a lot of shopping on Poshmark for on-line thrifting and i love it! I have also been looking into other sites like Thred Up and the Real Real. Love your jacket, the fit is beautiful and I love white column looks when you want to show off a garment. Looking lovely as always!

Wearing thrifted clothes or hand me ups or hand me downs or hand me (the clothing) around are all means of keeping clothes out of land fill sites.
There are many ways of reducing our footprint on this planet but those thoughts depart from the theme of this blog.

I’d like to hear your thoughts Bob, this blog is not only about fashion, as you know I am very concerned about our environment. Let’s make a difference and make it a better world for people and animals! 🙂

We don’t have that here, but I find it brilliant and we should introduce it here too!

It’s really fun as you can imagine! Here’s a link to Jean’s tips for a clothing exchange – you could be the one to start one in England! 🙂

Hi Carmen , this jacket was made for you and meant to be found by Jean! Very cute look with the white top and pants. I have not been to a exchange party I need to look out for one! I am glad you had fun at the one you attended , and its great the leftovers were donated for other women to find a treasure for themselves. Have a lovely thursday my friend, hugs , Terri xo.

Thanks so much Terri! There’s too much fast fashion out there and clothing exchange parties help create awareness of the need for slow fashion.

How interesting this topic of the parties of exchange of clothes, although you already told us about it in another post, it is always curious. The Anglo-Saxon countries are more clear about this issue, in Latin countries it is a proposal that is beginning, as well as the second-hand stores that are beginning to appear. Your jacket is beautiful, although perhaps I would have combined it with another look, not so white. The white looks perfect on its own, but this jacket, I think, would request something more sophisticated underneath. Despite this, you look wonderful, as always.

Thank you for your honest opinion which I value very much. Perhaps it would look best with something else as you suggest. But I do think it looks better in real life than in a photograph. 🙂
I’m glad that second-hand is getting to be known in other parts of the world. There are people who only want new clothes, but I think our environment is more important and we should all care about our world, garment workers and animals. You know my thoughts on this topic very well and I’m glad we agree on the importance of sustainability, fair trade and compassion. 🙂

Thank you Amor! I had never heard of it or been to one until my daughter wrote about it on her blog (see the link below) and then she arranged to have a clothing exchange party especially for me when I visited her in Seattle. 🙂

I think that kind of party is brilliant. I’ve heard of them but haven’t ever been to one!!
I actually bought a jacket like this from thredUp awhile ago, but had to return it because it was damaged. I bet it’ll go with everything, Carmen!!
