Whether it’s a casual outfit for my dance classes or to go out on the town to a special event, I enjoy putting together something that expresses who I am and what I like.
When I go shopping for clothes, I am always amazed at the creativity of the designers of these garments. It’s like going to an art museum and standing back to admire each painting. (That’s not to say I like everything.) The atmosphere of many stores is artistic and I enjoy looking at window displays, which is also an art.
I love the design of this asymmetrical skirt: black and white mini houndstooth, it has a belt and a slit at the side. Although this print could be used for a man’s suit, the style is ultra-feminine.
I found this cross-body bag this week while shopping with my friend Maggie. It was on sale and has lots of compartments to organize. I’ll be taking it with me to our holiday in Seattle. The tiny, black change purse is just big enough for a Canadian looney (that’s our coin worth one dollar).

Such a nice skirt. Would you believe that asymmetrical thing are making me nervous? I have no idea why. This is great look.

Hi Carmen , I love this skirt on you, the mini houndstooth is subtle , the belt looks very stylish and the length is great for winter. That top is gorgeous also with the lace detail being very pretty. The crossbody bag is nearly a perfect match to the outfit and I am glad you have plenty of compartments in it. Thank goodness we are free to change our clothes according to how we feel!! I hope you are enjoying much needed Mom /daughter time with Jean in Seattle ! Have a great day, Terri xo.

Thank you so much Terri! I’m writing from sunny Seattle, my home away from home! (The day started off drizzly and now the sun is shining!)
We have lots of fun things planned, including a weekend getaway to Whidbey Island in a lovely A-frame cottage that Jean has booked for us. She wrote about her visit to the island on her blog.
Seattle has wonderful vegan restaurants and I’m looking forward to my shopping spree at her eco boutique DRIZZLE & SHINE! 🙂

Thank you! The little purse did not come with the skirt. It’s from Germany, but it does have a Scottish touch, right? We’re off to Seattle tomorrow! (Actually, today for you.) 🙂

Thank you! I’m not a Madonna fan, so I’ve never heard this song. My title is “Express Yourself” because I believe fashion is an expression of our personalties. 🙂

I liked to hear her in the 80/90 years and found, it fits to your theme, but I know what you want to say…

I love this combination. The wonderful asymmetrical skirt, with the flat bottom and the lateral opening, all so feminine, so elegant and so attractive. And I love the chromatic game of gray with black, always so stylish and so classy. I love your jersey with the lace trim on the neckline, it’s really beautiful. You look very beautiful, Carmen. Your beauty and your figure every day are more wonderful.

It really is art!! That was SO evident when we went to the Dior exhibition. I don’t always think of it in that terms for our day to day wear, but it certainly can be!!
