Niagara-on-the-Lake in lace and pink pearls

Niagara Falls is the Honeymoon capital of the world and famous for one of the most impressive waterfalls on earth. If you are ever in the area be sure to take a little detour to nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake.

This 19th Century Victorian House (former residence of Trisha Romance) is now the Romance Collection Gallery, an amazing display of her exquisite paintings and prints for sale. (And it’s PINK! How romantic!)

Trisha was born in the States but has lived in Canada for many years and resides in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Romance GalleryI wore lace and pearls. It was the perfect pink outfit for the occasion. My lace tank top and cardigan are from RW & Co. (lace top is new) and I bought the lace skirt years ago for $10. Pink wedges are from Payless. They tie like ballet shoes and are so comfortable! Very important for all the walking we did.

Fort NiagaraWe stayed as long as possible and we’ll definitely be back again, after all, it’s not that far from home. We are fortunate to have such lovely places to go in southern Ontario.

beachOne last stop at the Lavender Shop, just outside town. (I’m getting addicted to lavender–the flowers, the colour, the fragrance–so romantic!) Then we stocked up on tree-ripened peaches, sugar plums and apricots before heading home.

Make it a great weekend and make some memories!!

You do find some lovely places to go. I love Bed and Breakfasts or little boutiques like the one you showed. I would have scooped up some of those ruffled or lace numbers. I love the whole outfit. so romantic, and pretty. I wear a fair amount of pink i nthe spring, a lovely combo you have here, and the shoes are sweet as well.
thanks for sharing your trips 🙂

Hi, I have lived in NOTL all my life, and although it is of course quite lovely and am glad people find so much to enjoy, must say it was a much better place to live 30 yrs or so ago. Not so built up and busy. Natasha Bradley is a new store and I wish her well, she does have lovely merchandise. Trisha Romances Gallery used to be owned by the Smith family and I had a sleep over there (kind of spooky at night though). Yes alas NOTL has become a very expensive place to call home, but safety comes at a high price (beauty can be created, but not safety), and it is still thankfully a VERY safe community. Do check out Refuge Antiques in the new “Village” on the way into town, across from Jackson Triggs winery. It is also a fabulous store. Just some thoughts for you. Hope your next trip here is just as much fun for you!

Hi Laura! How nice to hear from a resident of NOTL!! You have a gorgeous town, but I’m sure it’s a lot busier than 30 years ago! We only discovered it about 10 years ago through a dear friend who loved going and told us what a charming place it is to visit and we’ve been going almost every summer now.

We went to a few antique shops, I’ll be sure to stop by the Refuge Antiques next time and I’ll tell them Laura sent me 😉

I’ll be doing another post about my second trip there this summer soon. Hope you’ll check it out.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting!
Enjoy the last days of summer!

      Thank you, Celeste!

I bought the purse in Florida and got them in several colours. They are handy for keys and money, and a cell phone and tissue. 🙂

I’ll be doing another post about Niagara-on-the-Lake wearing lavender and I want to include a photo of you in your beautiful lavender skirt.

      It’s a good life!!

We’ve been there twice this summer with plans to go again in the fall before the snow flies. I wouldn’t mind living there but it’s too expensive!

      Life is good!!

Thank you, Sara! Yes, my little corner of the world has many beautiful places. I hope someday you’ll have a chance to visit. I have several friends who have been to Israel, the pictures they show are beautiful!! The old saying goes–it’s a small world–but with limited time and funds, it’s a HUGE world. So much to see, not enough time in a lifetime to go to every country, so I’m glad that with photography we have a window to the world! Looking forward to your photos from Greece!

      Shalom,

A beautiful place and a nice story, a wonderful post in which you combine your beauty with the beauty of the landscape. I love your outfit, your lace skirt is simply gorgeous. You look great with this look, you’re a dancer in the beautiful landscape, you look like a fairy. I really like your shoes and your purse are two cuties. The Carmen more elegant, romantic and attractive.

Thank you, Josep-Maria! I like that you said I look like a fairy because fairies are very sweet and whimsical. Now I need some pink fairy wings! 🙂

I love the ocean and lake Ontario is so big that it looks like an ocean. Water always makes me happy because it has a soothing affect on me. I love walking in the sand at sunset.

      Have a wonderful weekend!!
