What I wore Family Day

Family Day is a statutory holiday in Ontario since 2008, a day to spend time with the family. We visited our oldest son’s family (my three grandchildren–and two cats are a new addition to the family) and our youngest son came along too.

I wore this pretty sweater with hearts which I bought at Zacks.

“Zacks is a Canadian business that caters to the contemporary, fashion conscience, well-dressed woman committed to meeting her evolving needs. In 1921, the first Zacks opened in Kitchener, Ontario. Today there are 19 stores across Ontario and Quebec. Zacks offers an inspiring selection of career and casual wear in sizes ranging from 4 – 18.”

I paired it with my new blue jeans from CLEO. Theses flares are perfect worn over boots and they have silver snaps on the sides that are not only decorative but functunal because they open.

If we all do a little, it counts for a lot. We’re working to leave a smaller footprint – from sourcing more ethical fabrics to using less energy in our stores. We’re committed to be better for you and better for the planet.

To be today’s choice in meeting women’s fashion needs, by offering styles that are flattering with a dress up/dress down versatility that gives you the value and quality you can trust, in a fun, friendly, easy to shop store.” ~CLEO

My red hearts clutch was bought in the ’70s.

God blessed us with three grandchildren!

Our first grandson is 16

Our granddaughter is 13

and our youngest grandson is 3

wearing the T-shirt his big brother wore when he was a boy and his uncle wore it and his dad wore it too!

Thank you for your kind words! When I see something with hearts it does feel like they designed it for me. ❤️ I am thankful to live not too far away from my grandchildren (about a half hour by car). As you know, Jean lives on the other side of this Continent, but she will visit us in June for Father’s Day! You and I are blessed with grandchildren!

      Have a wonderful week!

  2. Hi Carmen ! I missed this post when it first published somehow ! I did not know of your family day holiday in Ontario . I am glad that you all were able to be together, except for Jean of course. Look at those cats, they have the life ! The sweater is gorgeous on you Carmen ! I love the jeans too, you can open the snaps easily for pairing with boots. Your clutch has stood the test of time! Wow your Grandkids are getting sooo big ! They are beautiful kids , A joy to see them for you when you get the chance to visit. That t shirt must be amazing quality! I hope it can last for the next generation too ! I love that message hanging on the door, It is something to remind ourselves about often. Have a great evening, Terri xo.

Thank you so much Terri! Family and friends are a blessing! Grandchildren are the reward of having children! It’s so much easier!

Jiffy and jazzy are very happy in their new home, they were rescued kittens.

It would be fun to see if another generation will be wearing the generational T-shirt. 🙂

Let’s thank God for what we have!

Wonderful you could see family. A well good quality t shirt being handed down. T-shirts these days don’t last that long.
I saw in my mum’s stuff that quality was definitely better in those days. Your grand children are lovely. You can certainly be a very proud grandparent. You look fabulous, red is such a good colour and suits you so well.
Bless you all, much love Ute ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much Ute! This T-shirt is a very good qulaity. I have photos of all the boys wearing it, I’ll post them someday when I find them.

I’m so glad my boys (and grandchildren) live close by. My daughter Jean lives so far away, I’m thankful for the telephone and looking forward to her vist on Father’s Day in June!
