There are several reasons why May is so merry this year.
♥ My daughter Jean came to visit for Mother’s Day.
♥ My brother’s birthday is in May.
♥ I got to go to my first dance of this year.
♥ The magnolias and lilacs have blossomed.
♥ Spring finally arrived.
What a blessing it was to have my three children together for Mother’s Day! Since Jean moved to Seattle, this is her first time visiting us for Mother’s Day.
I wore my pre-loved wrap pants which I bought for $5 while shopping with my dear friend Maggie, she’s the one who spotted them (pun intended) I love the random polka dots and they just happen to go with a polka dot top that I bought at Ricki’s many years ago.
I added a belt that belonged to my mom. It always makes me happy to wear something of hers, especially on Mother’s Day.
Happy days in Kincardine, Jean’s first time visiting us in our new homes.

Hi Carmen, May is indeed a merry month for you. Jean’s visit was a real highlight ! It must be special also as you remember your brother on his birthdate , and the time you both got to spend together. That was fun going to your first dance !! The magnolias must look beautiful. It truly was a mothers blessing having her 3 kids together again . I love that you got those wrap pants for $5 dollars , what a bargain! I have a black skirt with white polka dots that is very similar to your pants . It also was purchased really inexpensively. The pants look go so well with the top . It is lovely to add your Mother’s belt to the outfit. Such gorgeous pictures of you and Jean together. Your outfits in the bottom pics are so chic! A fashionable mother daughter duo! Thanks so much for your kind comment Josep-Maria! You can imagine how happy I was that Jean came to visit, I hadn’t seen her for over three years and never on Mother’s Day for 22 years! Polka dots are fun and I like that the pants are black with white polka dots and the top is the reverse with black polka dots, a fun pattern-mix. The heart T-shirt is new and you know it’s my trademark. ❤️

May is a wonderful month, specially for you as Spring really starts then. And what more can a mother love more than all children together. It really makes your heart sing. I feel you!
I have very similar polka dotlight trousers like you are wearing. I haven’t worn them yet, they are too light for right now. Still we managed to have breakfast outside one warm day and it is bliss.
We are still iving in a buildingsite, but we do work hard every day to make it beautiful!
Enjoy the warmer months Carmen, I know you love them, soak them up and love every minute.

Exactly Ute! It made my heart sing to have us all together for Mother’s Day after more than 2 decades! My wrap pants are perfect for hot weather (not quite hot yet but very pleasant most days).
I know what a building site or construction zone is like, we have done it before and had to paint and repair etc. This it the first house that is almost ready with only a few things to do. The patio and the garden needs lots of work. Your reward will come when you are finished and I’m enjoying the progress. 🙂
