Dress Rehearsal for Spring

There was still a giant snowglobe outside my window but I’m in the mood for getting ready for spring, trying on outfits that I’ll be wearing to the beach. Now that I live in Kincardine, a charming beach town on Lake Huron, walking along the beach is a daily activity.

Thankfully, we had a few milder days this weekend and the snow is melting!

Blue and white are my favourite seaside colours. This blue chambray shirt ties at the waist and I’ve paired it with my white deck pants which are perfect for wading in the water. Can’t wear sandals yet, but I will as soon as the snow melts.

White capris are also cool for summer.

The good thing about March is that not only is it the last month of winter but it’s the month my grandson was born 16 years ago!

Birthday blessings to my dear grandson!

Are you getting ready for spring?

  1. I see the snowglobe outside your window , I am glad to hear it is melting though Carmen ! What a great idea picking out ensembles so you are ready to go once that first comfortable spring day arrives that you can go out and enjoy. It will be lovely walking along the beach everyday . The chambray shirt and white deck pants are so pretty together . Congratulations to your Grandson , looks like he is getting so big! I am slowly getting ready for spring , the longer days help ! Have a nice day Carmen, Terri xo.

The snow has vanished, even Frosty won’t be back this year – I hope. Well, we could get some snow in April but it won’t last. Robins are in our backyard and the grackles are back!
My grandson is taller than me now, hard to believe!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. Hi, Carmen – Happy Birthday to your grandson! My grandson will be turning nine at the beginning of May. I haven’t had luck with the colors of my chambray shirts. I need a medium bright blue. I like the blue of yours as it shows in the photo. Thanks for sharing your joy – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

It is good to get ready for Spring, I love Spring, nad I still need my cardigans though. 🙂 You look ready for the beach, Carmen, I’m not quite that adventurous yet. 🙂 A daily beach walk sounds so wonderful as a daily exercise.
Happy birthday to your Grandson, you realise on the children how time flies.
Enjoy Spring to the full! ♥

Oh yes, indeed! The children grow and time does not stand still! Every year is the same, after every Winter comes Spring! As my father would say, Nach jedem Winter, folgt wieder ein Mai! Walking along the beach is the next best thing to dancing! Dancing on the beach is fun, too, but not in high heels! 🙂

      Enjoy your new spring garden!

I love your beach outfits. This blue with white are perfect. How wonderful to see you again with your white capris, the queen of capri is back! I’ve been looking at images of your new city on Google, it’s a beautiful place. How old is your grandson, whom we have seen grow through your blog.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you have seen my town on Google maps! It is indeed a beautiful area of Ontario with the most amazing sunsets! We both live by the sea, but across the ocean!

My grandson is 16 and taller than me! How quickly the years go around and your grandchildren were not even born when we first started blogging! How old are they now?

      Your queen of Capri!
