When Covered Perfectly came out with this top, I knew I wanted to buy one but I procrastinated ordering it because I thought the company would be around forever. You can imagine how disappointed I was when the company closed and were sold out of my size.
I wondered if I could buy one secondhand. I checked eBay, no such luck. Then I remembered seeing Nicole from High Latitude Style wearing one and took a chance to ask her. She was kind enough to send it to me! Thank you Nicole!
“Everything is made in America from super-soft, luxurious MicroModal. You will love the way the fabric feels against your skin! Happy shopping”

The good news is that COVERED PERFECTLY is back, so I bought one for my daughter, Jean.
Kimberly saved the day after Pauline Durban retired and Kimberly took over the business. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones owned by women, I admire their strength and aptitude.
I know the hard work that goes into this because my daughter opened her own store five years ago in Seatte–DRIZZLE & SHINE eco-boutique.
Jean did a marvelous job to curate everything in the store is free of animal products.
“Everything is a combination of fair trade, organic, local, USA-made, and/or recycled. We choose brands who think big, have small footprints, and give back.”
~Drizzle & Shine
2020 was a rough year for local, small businesses which rely on daily customers. Sadly, the lockdowns affected her store, however, DRIZZLE & SHINE is online.
Jean styled her snow leopard print top two ways: a classy look in black and white with a pop of red (she wore her top backwards for this outfit) and a casual look with orange jeans and a green scarf, just the right outfit to play with sweet little Katie.

I styled mine with a little pattern mixing–pinstripe leggings for a casual look and dressed up with a polka dot skirt and red boots. My top has a V-neck and I also have worn it backwards.

Our style challenge is not a competition but to show different ways to style the same item.
Thank you Jean for sharing your style!
Please take a look at all the fabulous styles at Covered Perfectly.

It is difficult to combine those two prints as you do, striped pants and animal print, but you get a success with this risky attempt. In the other look, I love your skirt, it’s so cute. And all those touches of red so yours make a beautiful outfit. In the last photo your beauty exceeds all my expectations, you look wonderful.

Thank you so much for your kind comment dear Josep-Maria, I always appreciate your perspective on fashion. I agree, mixing patterns is risky and can look clownish, like someone who got dressed in the dark or forgot to look in the mirror. 🙂 I want to look slylish – not like a clown. 😉 I played it safe by choosing thin stripes and tiny polka dots.

How nice of Nicole to send you the top ! It is very chic and I love that you and Jean get to wear identical tops across the miles ! It is important to shop small business and as you say women owned is even better! I am glad Jean is able to continue her business online ! I do like how Jean styled her top with black clothing , and then the splash of colour in the orange jeans and green scarf. It looks like two different women, with her hair up and not wearing glasses in the second look ! Cute pic with her and Katie ! You look amazing also , The pin stripe look is great for a day out and about. The polka dot skirt look is good for an evening going out to dinner . I love how you have been able to use it backwards. Great job Ladies, Terri xo.

Thank you very much for your kind words! I’m so glad Nicole was willing to part with this pretty top! It’s fun to find different ways to style something and even more fun when my daughter joins me with a project. 🙂 Katie is a rescued dog and such a sweetie! I’m glad to have her in this photoshoot! 🐕

You both look fabulous each differently styled. It looks great in any way! I never thought of the idea to wear it back to front to have a different look. Great idea!

Thanks ever so very much! It’s funny that both of us wore it backwards without knowing. Let me know if you try that sometime. 🙂

Thanks for the mentioning. Glad that the top fits and that you still wear it. So sad that COVID-19 killed your daughter’s store.

I sincerely appreciate your kindness Nicole! I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that Covered Perfectly is back in business! It’s a great company! 🙂 Sadly, the lockdowns killed many small businesses, while big stores like Target and Walmart could sell clothes with thousands of people going through every week, a small shop was not allowed one customer in at a time. Every business is essential. People need to pay mortagages and put food on the table. NO MORE LOCKDOWNS!

Hi Jean! You look like you have lost weight. You look fab!! Love the orange jeans! ❤
Carmen, I like the polka dot skirt the best of yours.
When I wear my shirts backwards, it's always accidentally! lol

That’s so funny Melinda, wearing a top accidentally backwards is not so bad, it’s wearing it inside out that can look like you got dressed in the dark, haha! The skirt is from Jean’s eco-boutique, bought a few years ago and I love the tiny dots! Thank you for stopping by! 🙂

It was another fun style challenge! I like how you did a half-tuck and I will try that next time. So far, I’ve only worn it over or tucked it. We also both used red as an accent colour. I tend to stick with black but will try something more colourful like yours. ❤️

I love seeing it styled so many ways. And hi Jean!!!
The print mixing is spot on and I especially love the red jeans with it.
