Kincardine: Ontario’s Scottish Destination

What a way to start a summer morning (especially with a busy day ahead) coffee and a stroll along the beach of Kincardine. The locals say that when you live here, you’ll never want to move away. Our youngest son has made Kincardine his new home.

Pink sunglasses: Bartell Drug Store, Seattle
Blue top: at least 14 years old
Floral joggers: Madison Clothing Boutique, Collingwood
Tote: handmade, little shop in Neustadt
Non-leather sandals: Madison Clothing Boutique, Collingwood

I wore a baby blue cotton-knit top and my new floral joggers–made in Italy–that I bought at Madison Clothing Boutique this summer. I also bought the sandals there last summer. The tote is handmade by a local artisan in Neustadt (another little town in Southwestern Ontario). It’s non-leather and machine washable. How cool is that!

We’ve been working very hard at getting the house renovated and a walk by the beach is the best reward for a hard day’s work! 🙂

Kincardime is a charming beach town and a piper plays at sunset on the stairs of the lighthouse every evening during summer.

A walk along the shore at sunset is refreshing for the soul as I admire God’s amazing creation and I can sleep better at night.

What refreshes your soul?

It looks fantastic, I believe that people don’t want to move away again from there. As parents we do always help our children, as you we also helped my son with his house when he bought it. It is great to do that and specially when it is in such a wonderful area. Have a good rest and enjoy God’s beautiful world, Carmen ♥♥♥

That’s right, what are parents for? Our children will always be our children and it’s a joy to help them. We’ll be heading back to Kincardine to work and enjoy the beach, best sunsets in Ontario! I’ll be posting some photos when the house is finished. 🙂

Thanks so much Jodie! It is a beautiful location, It reminds me of California, a place that inspired me when I saw the ocean and gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific! I always dreamed of living in California and my love for the beach remains in my heart.

The joggers come in a variety of prints that it’s hard to choose one, so I bought 2. my first ones are pink camo – you may remember these on my blog.

  3. The baby blue top is so cute with the floral joggers Carmen !! The tote is beautiful too. You know exactly how to dress for a day at the beach, well , I guess part of the day at the beach anyway. I can see why the locals say you will never move away, Kincardine is gorgeous. I am sure your son and his family appreciate all your efforts in getting their house to be home. How nice top have a nightly piper play !! I love the sunset Pic you created into a heart !!! Have a great day , Terri xo.

Thank you so much Terri! We make a point of going to the beach every time we go (it’s only 5 minutes from his house) On this particular day, I went 3 times: in the morning with my husband, in the afternoon with my oldest son and family who dropped by, and again at sunset to hear the piper play (with my husband and youngest son who lives in Kincardine).

We’re going back this week, lots more work to do and more sunsets to view! 🙂

I love your pants and your sweater, they are both cute. The place where your son has moved seems very nice, I hope he is very happy there. I don’t know what refreshes my soul, honestly, but I do know what makes my heart beat faster.

Thank you so much dear Josep-Maria! Kincardine is a marvellous place and compares with the Mediterranean–you know my passion for rivers and the sea! The only problem is that Kincardine has several cold winter months. 😦 Tarragona has a better winter. 🙂

May your heart always beat with the passion of life!
