Animal Print and Polka Dots

Pattern mixing is easy and safe with a monochromatic look. The gray and white subtle zebra and leopard print top compliments these gray and white polka dot capris. And to complete the outfit, I wore gray sneakers with white polka dots, a casual look for home and garden while visiting my oldest son and his family in their new home.

My top is over ten years old and debuted on my blog HERE with black denim leggings. The capris–bought at Macy’s eight years ago–have also been on my blog HERE with my Lisa Cavaletti blouse. I’ve worn the top and capris numerous times, but first time wearing them together.

Quite a contrast to my wild, colourful pattern mixing HERE.

Lazy summer days call for casual clothes with style!

I’m a Comfort Queen, if it’s not comfortable, it will hang in the closet. I will not suffer for fashion. 🙂 We enjoy our visits with our son and family, it’s a lovely home in Hanover, a smaller town and far from the busy life in the city. 🙂

Hi, Carmen!!! I’m back after my shoulder surgery! Seeing your blogpost has really and truly brightened my entire day. I also love your Hat Attack post and tried to comment last week, but must’ve done something wrong because it didn’t make it through. The video with your granddaughter is absolutely precious. She’s as sweet and lovely as her Mimi. Each of your posts is uplifting and obviously from the heart, and I always look forward to them.

I adore monochromatic looks, and of course you have perfected the art of it, all the way down to your shoes! Gray and white are super flattering neutrals for you, though I have to say I’ve never seen you model a color combination that wasn’t beautiful. I get so many great ideas from you. I can happily say I’ve ditched all the ‘black (mostly). I added many pastels to my wardrobe this summer, and no longer look like the offspring of Darth Vader and Stevie Nicks. My friends constantly comment on it, and I tell them I have you to thank.

I send wishes for every blessing to you and your family. Thank you for making the world a happier, kinder, and more beautiful place to live in!

  5. You have pattern mixing really well done Carmen , down to an art! I love the animal print top you are wearing and so nicely put together with the cute capris . I like the polka dot pattern on them to go with the sneakers. lazy days do call for casual comfy clothes! Such nice background indoor and outdoor photos to help show the outfit. I believe we have the exact same sectional couch with just the ottoman and cushions being different. Have a lovely day, Terri xo.
