On the corner of Cherry Blossom Road in Cambridge, we took a little break from the busy day to stop and admire the crabapple trees.
Our oldest son and his family moved into their new home. It’s been a hectic month with packing and moving. On our way to help them on the final day of their move (out of their home in Cambridge, Ontario) we stopped to enjoy this beautiful sight.
Since I’ve had a dream to visit Paris someday to experience the splendour of Cherry Blossoms in their glory, I saw this as an opportunity to enjoy the glorious sight of twenty crabapple trees in full bloom right in my own backyard (so to speak).
I wore this lightweight summer sweater that I bought at Simons in Toronto–white, cotton knit which I can wear with any pants in my wardrobe and goes with every pair of leggings I own because it’s long enough. I have the same sweater in pastel green.

My Paris bag makes me feel like I’m in France–not quite, but I do have a good imagination.

As the old adage goes,
Stop to smell the roses!
or in this case,
Stop to behold the blossoms!

What a beautiful outfit, perfect with the cherry blossom background.

Thanks so much! It’s always a treat to walk among the blossoms. The lilacs and wisteria are now in full bloom.

Hi Carmen ! I am happy for your son and his family moving to their new house! As you know we are trying along those same lines. What a gorgeous sight of the blossom trees along with front and center YOU! The sweater looks so comfy on you and goes great with the floral pants. I have always loved seeing your Paris bag in your posts! I might need to find one similar. It is good to stop and smell the roses or blossom trees as you and I know it passes so fast the spring summer , living in the northern climate we are in. Thanks for sharing, Terri xo. 🌺🌺🌷

Thank you so much! They are settled in their new home now and we are visiting them at the moment. What a lovely home they found in a friendly neighbourhood and a smaller town in Ontario.

Oh, I’d love that!! First, tho you’d have to help me BUY some pretty clothes! I’m pretty useless at clothes shopping. I’ve settled on an “uniform” of Tshirts, and capris. ❤

You look amazing, Carmen! Once again you have styled a perfect look, effortlessly chic and comfortable. I can see how a white tunic sweater would be extremely versatile in a wardrobe. Your statement heart pendants elevate the blank slate of the sweater without detracting from the clean simplicity. I feel like a lovely heart is the perfect accessory for you as it reflects your inner personality. And your photos amongst the blossoms are ethereal, as if the crabapple trees bloomed in unison in celebration of your visit.
Also your Paris tote is very fun and cool! I will be overjoyed for you when you finally make your first visit to the City of Light. I’ve not been there either but it is our goal once our youngest finishes his PhD (2 years to go!). Until then I will have to keep using my imagination as well, which is actually quite fun anyway.
I love crafting and mixed media art so I’m always planning a current or future project. And when I’m bored when trying to fall asleep or while stuck in traffic I entertain myself by doing stories in my head (that sometimes take place in Paris!), like novels but I never write them down. Since I only work on them part time they often take me 3-4 years to finish. In my most recent one I’ve just had to kill off a favorite supporting character to advance the plot and I cried like a baby. I’m super weird, I know.
Thank you for sharing your latest style in this beautiful post. I look forward to your visiting your blog each Friday!
May your week be filled with blessings,
Nancy

Thanks ever so much for your kind words, Nancy! You make me smile! I’m glad to hear more about what you enjoy doing: crafting, mixed media art and writing stories which I’m sure you are very good at, you have a gift for writing. I don’t think it’s weird that you cry, it shows your sensitivity. You are very creative and caring!
Love and blessings!

What a wonderful backdrop, who needs Paris. It looks lovely where you are! Your leggins are exactly the same colour as the blossoms, perfect match. We are battling with very stormy weather and it is cold, dull and rainy. I’ve got a warm jumper on again, no warmer temperatures in sight. We take it as it is and make it cosy inside. Have a wonderful weekend! ♥

You’re so right! We have much to enjoy in our own backyards! I love matching the scenery, in fact, that is where I often get my inspiration. 🙂 There’s always something to be glad about; on a cold and rainy day, you can be thankful for a warm jumper and stay cozy inside. 🙂 Thanks so much for your visit, enjoy your home!

How beautiful are the cherry blossoms and how well they look each year as a landscape for your blog and your outfits! I love your pants in that cherry tone and how beautiful with your white shirt. How beautiful is Canada and how beautiful you are! And your heart hanging around your neck, that heart that is always present in your style, outside and inside. My dear Carmen, you look absolutely wonderful, here and always.

My heart-felt thanks for your lovely comment dear Josep-Maria, which always brings a smile to my day! 🙂 It is good to be thankful for what we have, the world is an awesome wonderland! People are the ones who can ruin it and people are the ones who can make a difference. I am so glad we think alike and do our best to make it a better world with compassion and kindness! ❤️
