Shades of Green

There are so many different shades of green.

This pastel green V-neck sweater also came in forest green. Green is such a tranquil colour, perhaps that’s why God chose it for trees and plants in nature, which has a way of making us feel serene and contentment. That’s one reason why a walk in the woods or a stroll through a park is so beneficial and has a calming effect.

Even though I really like green in nature, I rarely buy green clothes. This sweater came in a dozen colours: pink, burgundy, baby blue, navy blue, gray, ivory, black and white. I’m glad I chose this shade of green.

I had a hard time deciding which colour to choose and I only bought two (my other one is white). I may go back to Simons to buy one more. It’s a lightweight, cotton knit and I’ve paired it with white jeans for a fresh spring look.

Green is a neutral, I think it goes with everything. We can learn from the flowers; every flower of every colour has green leaves.

I finally have quite a bit of green in my wardrobe but it’s not always easy to find at the retail stores…exactly why I love thrifting!!
This color is so soft and pretty on you Carmen!!

  4. Green definitely has so many shades Carmen! It is a great point you make why God made the grass and trees to be that colour. The sweater is so pretty on you with its nice V neck detail. It would be lovely in any of the dozen colours it comes in. You have styled it nicely with white jeans. It can definitely go with a host of other colours. It is so right, every flower does have a green stem! Have a lovely day Dear, Terri xo.

GOD is amazing! I am always in awe of His marvelous creation: green grass, blue skies and white puffy clouds, yellow sunshine, a rainbow of colours–everything to perfection! And I think to myself, what a wonderful world He made! Thank you so much for your kind comment! 🌿🌺🌿🌻🌿🌷🌿🌼🌿🌸🌿

You look gorgeous in your lovely mint green sweater, Carmen! You have the ideal coloring for pastels and this outfit will see you through the transitional weather of spring.

I completely agree with everything you’ve said about the color green. I was recently thinking about that myself and wondering why I always pass it up for other colors, though it’s stunningly represented throughout nature. I also agree it is a neutral. My daughter chose a forest green handbag as her Christmas gift this year. She uses it daily and it goes with everything, even colors I wouldn’t have thought to pair green with.

Is that another magnolia tree I spy in the last couple of photos? The blooms are the perfect backdrop for your green sweater!

Thank you so much for sharing your style and helping me expand my own. I picked up a pink cardigan this week (full disclosure—I also bought it in black), BUT I did get the pink one, and I have your inspiration to thank for it. I’m looking forward to shedding my Darth Vader persona this spring!

Wishing you a week filled with blessings!

Thanks ever so much Nancy! It’s a perfect transitional sweater. I wear it with a cami at the moment and I can add a scarf when it’s a little cool. Because it’s a V-neck and very lightweight, I will wear it in the summer without the cami. Like you, I don’t pick green when I have a choice of colours, perhaps I am breaking out of my box. A forest green handbag is definitely a neutral in my opinion, like flowers already know.

I think you’re right, it seems to be a type of magnolia. Photos were taken last week at a convention centre that is closed. Finding interesting backdrops is part of the fun of photoshoots. I enjoy walking along streets especially during blossom season. Now the lilacs are blooming and the fragrance is delightful!

So glad to hear that I could inspire you to buy a pink cardigan and buying a black one is a great idea which I do a lot (buy one in every colour if I could!). I learned that from my mom who would often buy two or three if she found something she really liked. My daughter does the same. Black is a basic that every fashionista needs!

      Blessings of joy and health!

One of my posts where I bought 3 tops in different colours and 2 for my daughter. 🙂

Thank you very much for another lovely compliment! I’m enjoying this wonderful spring weather and taking walks through nature. It’s pleasant to stroll along the streets to admire the gardens. It is my favourite season here in Ontario because it is not too hot and not too cold, although it can get a little cool sometimes even in May.

The fresh air, beautiful landscapes and birds singing are wonderful for the senses! I know you can enjoy these pleasures all through the year in your beautiful Catalonia! Your home near the beach is a blessing! I would like to live near a beach but here in my part of Canada, I could only enjoy it for a few months.

      Have a wonderful week!
