FLOWER POWER: florals on black

Flowers are never out of season and never out of style.

I bought two floral tops at Simons recently. This one with a black background. It’s super soft and I love that it’s made with an eco-friendly, sustainable fabric.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ | A LOWER FOOTPRINT  – forest conscious, reduction of emissions, water conscious

Viscose fibres are produced using certified wood pulp from sustainable sources. Choosing these fibres helps protect the world’s ancient and endangered forests.

These fibres generate up to 45% fewer carbon emissions compared to conventional viscose. Moreover, their manufacturing reduces the impact on water by 33%”

The magnolias are in full bloom early this year, but a cold spell is making them fade quickly. The flowers on my top will never fade.

I love florals all through the seasons!

How about you?

Hello, Carmen! I’m new here. I’m 58 and have been searching for good ‘over 50-60’ fashion blogs, which is how (to my great delight) I found myself at this post. I’ve spent the last hour having a nice cup of chamomile and exploring your lovely blog. In my search I found a few other blogs I enjoy, but yours is by far my favorite. You have a great sense of style that is very unique to you. Each time I look at one of your posts I think “I LOVE that, I would wear that!” Also, I didn’t believe you were in the 60+ age range until I read your ABOUT page. I assumed you were in your 40’s. The look you’ve modeled today is fabulous. I love the way you color blocked the black floral top with the red pants and black booties, with the red pants really making the floral pattern pop. Your magnolia blooms are magnificent. I’m from Charleston, SC and our magnolias are much different. The magnolias trees here are massive (taller than 3 story homes!) and evergreen, blooming a bit later in the season with huge white flowers. I am going to ask at our local nursery about the climate needed for the ornamental size, as I’m so taken with your beautiful blooms. Thank you for all the inspiration!!

What a delight to read your encouraging words Nancy! It’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m glad you’re browsing through my blog and that you like it! The magnolia tree is a dwarf magnolia. This is not my place, it belongs to a friend who loves gardening. I thought it would make a lovely backdrop for this floral top. My next post will also be with magnolia trees (taken today while on a road trip where they are still in bloom!). I love these trees, but alas! the blossoms disappear too soon! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking time to comment! 🙂

Your Magnolia is wonderful, shame about the cold. Also the Hyacinths are lovely, however you are even more wonderful in this flower top, and as you say they never fade and keep fresh on the top. Isn’t it wonderful that Spring has come and everything springs to life. Enjoy every sunray, Carmen. I just washed the car in the sunshine, so I am going to sit in the garden now to read my book, soaking up the warmth and Vitamin D. ♥

Isn’t it a beautiful garden?! But I must tell you that this isn’t mine. Only the outfit belongs to me. 🙂 Enjoy your vitamin D, I had mine at the beach today. Not warm enough for swimming, but perfect for fresh air and sunshine and a marvelous view that you will see in my next post.🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
