Northern Reflections is one of my favourite Canadian stores. I had a wonderful opportunity to model for this company on the catwalk at a fashion show a few years ago.

While shopping there recently, one of the salesladies was wearing this windowpane plaid top. (It’s not the first time I’ve bought what a saleslady had on.) It has three buttons on the sleeves and little slits at the sides, another stylish black and white outfit.

My beret is thrifted. The fabric tote is handmade by a local artist and reminds me of my vacations in New York City. Shoes are from Maggie’s clothing exchange.

  1. That is such a classic print and there is a reason that black and white is still one of my favorite color combinations. I also noticed your pendant and cuff right off the bat-love those too. I’ve always called that pattern Window Pane Plaid. Is that what you call it too?

Thanks so much! You can’t go wrong with black and white, it always looks chic. You do pay attention to detail, I’m not surprised. It’s the details that get my attention too! 🙂

  2. I am sure you looked as amazing on the catwalk as you do in all your blog pics Carmen! I can see why you bought the top the saleslady was wearing! It is really chic on you as you style it with everything else. The beret is so nice with it . You would look the part strolling down 5th Ave. or walking through Soho! Have a lovely evening, Carmen, Terri xoxo.

When I was working in a women’s clothing store, we always wore what we sold. It’s a great sales technique. Have a fabulous second Easter day, don’t know if you have a second one, we do.

My mother worked in retail for three women’s apparel stores after she gave up hairdressing. She loved fashion and one of the places was a high-end store, and of course, they want their employees wearing clothes from the store. They know that sells the clothes better than on a hanger. My daughter does the same in her eco boutique, women make the best models for selling clothes. 🙂 When I had the opportunity to work in my daughter’s store, I did the same.

      Easter blessings!
