Can you find my little friend Tweetie?
We finished redecorating our Gartenzimmer (Florida room or treehouse as we call it). The perfect summer place to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great for entertaining and relaxing. It’s like stepping out of our living room right into a cottage without driving miles to get there.
Here’s the new look in black rattan.

I still love the way we had it since we moved to this house eight years ago–white wicker furniture (which we moved to the downstairs patio and put the loveseat on our front porch). The wicker set is secondhand and we’ve had it almost 20 years (new cushions twice).
How our Florida room used to look …
With all this time off work, you’d think I’d be further ahead in doing projects around the house and garden. Oh well, why do it today when we can always do it tomorrow?
Tomorrow is another day.

How beautiful all these corners of your house, with that beautiful decoration so yours, so Carmen. And how nice to see your whole family enjoying it. Everything is balance, delicacy and good vibes. What an absolutely wonderful room. The black rattan looks great and comfy. I can see tweetie on your shoulder there and on your Granddaughter’s head. I love to see all your German vases and pots. So familiar the grey and blue Steingut pottery, the Wilde Rose – you got many vases there, and the white vase with the ammonites is just like my mum’s. Das Garten Zimmer ist so schoen. Ich freue mich dort einen Tee mit Dir zu trinken….. eines Tages!. A wonderful room for a beautiful family. Much love Carmen ♥

Liebe Ute, I had a dream last night that you came to visit! Yes, Tweetie is in the first photo with me and on my granddaughter’s head. She’s also on my grandson’s shoulder (she took a real liking to him immediately) as well as in the cage and in some other photos.

wow ! What a beautiful gartenzimmer you have , and all that lovely pieces of different colours collection of decorations! Re-decorating is fun , it does gave a new feel of the room ! Great job ! The grandchildren growing up so fast ! The baby is adorable and handsome!
