A walk in the woods

We had planned a walk in the woods for Mother’s Day but the weather did not cooperate. It actually snowed in May. Walks through the forest are therapeutic and healthy. Fresh air and nature help us feel better emotionally, physically and spiritually. That’s especially beneficial during this stressful time.

“If you’re ever worried or upset, go through the woods with open eyes. And in every tree, in every shrub, in every creature and every flower, the Almighty God will reveal Himself to you and give you solace and strength.” From the movie Sissi (Empress Elisabeth of Austria). She lived near Munich and I had a wonderful time in Possenhofen by the Starnberger Sea where she grew up.

I wore this blue jacket that I bought five years ago in Germany (made in Germany).

It was delightful to be with my family again after two months!

Days spent together become memories to treasure!

  1. The outdoors are so beneficial and healthy for us in every way Carmen. Sorry you had snow. I have never seen Sissi, I must look it up!n The jacket looks very cozy on you and you accessorized it really nice. Love the booties too!!! Your extended family is beautiful, and must be great to have the latest addition along for a walk. Take care Dear, Terri xo.

Thank you very much! We treasure our time together. Our winter turned to summer: from snow on Mother’s Day weekend and now a heatwave. I guess there will be no spring this year. 😉

How nice to be able to walk through the forest with your family, to be able to share beauty and love. And also to do it with your style, with that French cap and that delicate print. You look beautiful, Carmen.

You can imagine how happy I am to see my grandchildren after 2 months, the longest time apart ever! I have a collection of these French berets in different colours. 🙂 Thank you so much for your kind comment!

I am sure that walk was very precious with some of your family. Nature is a great healer and gives peace and calmness. It is always good and helpful to go for a walk in the woods, in any situation. Lovely pictures with your son and his family.

It was definitely a fabulous afternoon! Thankfully, it’s not often we get snow in May, we have enough of that white stuff all winter! 🙂

Your blue jacket is very pretty Carmen. So true, fresh air and nature is so good for us. Today on my daily walk I noticed one of the swans which I have watched for ages sitting on her nest was in the water with her cygnets. It really made my day!

Good for you to take daily walks, I see a lot more people walking these days, so that’s great. However, I really miss my dance classes and look forward to teaching again someday.

Swans are so elegant, how special that you got to see the cygnets in the water today! 🙂 When we lived by the river, we were often visited by these amazing birds and we enjoyed watching them while having breakfast on our balcony.

I’m enamored by Sisi too. I love the trilogy about her life. I know they are highly dramatized, but they are so good. I read that Posenhofen is an apartment building now. If that’s true, then I want an apartment there!
