The only flowers you’ll see here is the pretty calico floral print in this dress I wore for Mother’s Day. I won’t be able to wear it in the summertime because of the long sleeves but it’s perfect for the cold, spring weather we’re having.

Mother’s Day weekend arrived with snow pellets. I thought winter was over, apparently not. I went shopping for some new spring decor and found this charming sign (we’re redecorating our Florida room). Buds on the trees will soon transform into lush green leaves and warmer days are in the forecast.
Our daughter Jean had planned to visit us in May and we had booked a trip to Texas with our youngest son. However, with flights and travel across the border canceled, that wasn’t going to happen. It is what it is.
I’m blessed to have three wonderful children.

Spring and summer are dancing in the wind while the sky light up in storms! The beautiful flowers accent the day while gardens sprout and take root in the freshly filled soil! God is so good!

That is such a beautiful dress! I’m so sorry you couldn’t be with your kids on Mother’s Day. We lost a vacation this spring too and I haven’t seen my son since Christmas.

That is a beautiful dress you wore on Mother’s day Carmen! Lily of the valey are so pretty, your Mom had good taste . No one can travel and so many plans fail. You have got lovely children and I am sure you can talk to them often. Yes we need to stick to simple things theses days… breakfast in bed sounds like a treat though. I agree with you moving south would be warmer…. 🙂 We have it colder again too and jumpers are back. Keep warm and safe indoors!

You are quite right, I get to talk to my children often and I’m very grateful to Alexander Graham Bell for inventing the telephone! 🙂 Our hope is to go south next winter for a month or two. I have several friends who go south every winter, some for 6 months.

How beautiful is this dress, and how beautiful is your look with black stockings. I love the delicate print. And that flower in your hand is a real delicacy. You look gorgeous with this hairstyle and those corkscrews falling on your neck. How handsome your children!
