I remember my mom wearing peplum and she always looked so elegant. She had an hourglass figure and this flared-from-the-waist style accentuated it even more. I was excited to see peplum tops make a comeback a few years ago and I’ve been collecting them ever since: some new, some thrifted.
This is the first one I bought and I was thrilled to be featured in Fabulous After 40.
Since then I have a collection of 11 peplum tops.
Two the same in floral and black
Lace peplum tops in pink and magenta
Velvet and lace tops in burgundy and black
Gray knit peplum top
White lace peplum to dress up jeans
Black velvet with a burgundy pencil skirt.
I’ll always love this flattering style that can be dressed up with a pencil skirt or dressed down with jeans.

I like those tops very much, I like wearing them too, don’t have as many though 🙂 they do fit to everything really, you make them look glamorous . enjoy May , it is getting warmer, yay!

You have so many pretty peplum tops! I love the lace ones! I agree, it’s such a nice style, and I have a few peplum pieces in my wardrobe, it’s great to hide a mum-tum, haha! It definitely seems to be making a resurgence now, I see it around quite a lot so I hope it’s a style that stays! 🙂

Thanks very much Alison! It’s certainly is a flattering style. Gingham is so charming, my houndstooth is similar but I would also buy a gingham one if I ever find one. Red is one I’ve never found yet and would be great to have. Nice to meet another peplum fan! 🙂

Beautiful peplum tops! I dont have an hourglass figure but peplum tops help me to appear to have one. I dont know much about fashion but I’m starting a short story about someone in the fashion industry I will definitely follow you to get some tips!

You look fabulous as per usual. I love peplum too. I’ll always wear peplum, even if it’s “out of style.” Same with my pointy toe heels. If one day pointy toe is out of style (and maybe it is right now?), I’ll still wear them.
