Winter Wardrobe

April has arrived, the weather is still cool and there’s nowhere to go. All my dance classes are canceled. So I thought I’ll put together a collection of what I wore this winter.

Left – skirt from Maggie’s clothing exchange.

Right – Necknots: fabric necklace adds sparkle to my gray and black outfit, looks like jewellery but it’s silky soft. Cardigan is thrifted.

Left – tartan trim on these sleeves brightens up black and white.

Right – thrifted top with a fun print.

Left – top from DressBarn    Right – asymmetrical secondhand top

Left – Alchemy, ethical fashion.  Right – Leopards and Roses, ethical fashion

Pink was my go-to colour whether I wore a jacket or a coat this winter. Both are non-feather and vegan.

Our getaway in January was not south of the border as I had hoped but it was fun visiting Crystal Beach in Fort Erie for the first time in my life.

Wearing pink, florals, bright colours and lively prints makes winter a little more bearable.

Left – I wore my colourful patchwork skirt for my birthday dinner date.

Right – Pink sweater and floral jeans

I had a chance to wear green for a dance party before all my classes were canceled.

Polka dots liven up the dreary, dull days of winter. I bought fleece-lined leggings in black and burgundy.

Visiting my grandchildren and having the family over for my birthday was the highlight of February, including a tobogganing party.

Life is precious!

  1. Hi Carmen , winter is here with nowhere to go and we just got an Easter Sunday snowstorm! We got 3 to 4 inches . That skirt was a great find from Maggie’s exchange! The black and gray outfit is lovely! Got to love the tartan trim with the beret! I really like the shamrock scarf but I am a bit biased!! The patchwork skirt is so classy and I love all your pink outfits! Your Grandkid pics are so cute, I love the one of you and the baby watching each other, adorable❤ Happy Tuesday, Terri xo .

Thank you so much dear! I thought of you when I wore my shamrock scarf and tights. We had a Ceili on the Staturday night before St. Patrick’s Day (before the lockdown).

We had some flurries today, not like yours, but nevertheless, it’s too cool for spring clothes.

      Blessings!

another beautiful blog , you must have a big wardrobe of clothing , it must be nice to have so much clothing to pick from , don’t have to worry about what to wear for any occasions . The pictures with the grandchildren are super beautiful , the baby is going to be handsome little fellow , can’t wait to see him .

Thanks so much for your kind words Maggie! We both have enough clothes to wear but nowhere to go! Perhaps we take a walk this weekend for a photoshoot and stay 2 metres apart. 😀

Life is precious indeed. Now we have enough time to reflect, give thanks, think about what is really important and set priorities. You look great all through Winter. Your Grandchildren are beautiful including the sweet baby. So good you could see them in February. Lucky we have technology at least you can see them on a phone camera maybe. Much love Ute ♥

Thank you so much Ute! I do miss my grandchildren, however, knowing they are healthy and safe is a blessing! 🙂

This is a difficult time for us. My husband is out of work because he cannot work from home, he’s a self-employed painter. I’m grateful for good health but all my dance classes are canceled until further notice. I received a letter today that I will not be paid as I only get paid for classes I teach. 😦

My daughter’s eco-boutique may not make it if this continues much longer. Livelihood is an urgent matter too.

I hope life goes back to some kind of normal soon! 🙂

      Alles Gute!

Carmen, it is a very hard time. Being healthy is our main focus though. Businesses are very hard hit, can your daughter do more internet sales? It would be devastating if it doesn’t survive. We are all in the same boat. Germany is starting to ease some of its Lockdown. I will not know what happens to me next week. Can I work from home? They do furlough employees, so they get 80% of their wages, that would be an answer too, tightening the belt, we can survive. Canada is not doing so bad with the virus. Europe is hit hard, it seems. Too many people too close together in cities. Let’s hope and pray the spread will slow down and they find a vaccine or cure.
My best wishes to you and your family from my heart! ♥
