And one of the best things I got for free at Maggie’s clothing exchange is this fabulous skirt! The velvet and jacquard lace patches are sewn together to create an elegant textured look; animal print and black gives it a designer style. It’s fully lined and a perfect winter skirt. There’s no label, so it might be hand-made.
One of my favourite second-hand things!
I wore it for Maggie’s birthday party …
and a Christmas Market …
Do you have something special that was free?

That skirt looks so pretty on you Carmen!! I love the animal print on this unique skirt. It did sound so fun the clothing exchange. You and Maggie are such fashion icons! Your list is a good guide for all of us to follow. We need to have the courage to engage the stranger, a smile , a few words asking how they are doing. Happy Sunday Carmen, Terri xo.

Thank you so much Terri! Maggie has a big influence on me!
So true, a smile can encourage someone and a few kind words can mean so much to someone. We never know what a person is going through and we all need to feel loved.
Smiles and kisses! All God’s blessings for 2020 and forever!

Carmen, yes the best things which aren’t things like on your list are really the best. There is a shop in Cornwall who sells garments made out of old garments and patches them together, nice things come out. Like your skirt, they might have been 2 and sown together as ti matches so lovely it made a new skirt. Who knows. Those things are more special as they are unique.

Oh, that sounds like a lovely shop! My mother told me about how they used to make new things out of old during the war and she taught me how to do it. When a skirt got too small for me in my teens, I made this gray Tam O’ Shanter, a dress I made into an apron which I still have and other things too. She would unravel knitted and crocheted things and make new ones. I remember holding my hands apart as she wrapped the yarn around them. 🙂 Happy memories! 🙂
Wishing you health and happiness for 2020 and beyond!

Oh yes , I love those best things in life! Thank you for sharing. Yes I remember holding my arms out for yarn, my mum did that too. I enjoyed that. We sat in the evenings and my mum would darn, fix socks or anything ripped , listening to a story on the radio. They were peaceful evenings I enjoyed very much. Wishing you the best for 2020 my lovely Carmen ♥♥♥
