We enjoyed a 4-day weekend getaway in Collingwood, Ontario. My dear friend Marilyn invited me to the annual Elvis Festival. It’s the 25th year of this event (with international Elvis Tribute Artists) which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
The centre of town was closed to traffic and became a pedestrian zone with a stage for over 60 Elvis’ to perform. The sound of music echoed through the streets. Street vendors selling Elvis memorbilia–everything from T-shirts to umbrellas. Stores were ready for the shoppers. I bought a pink lace cardigan, just perfect for the outfit I brought to wear to the concert which I’ll show next time.
The Friday night concert featured very talented performers; besides Elvis there were other tribute artists as well: Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Frankie Valli, Buddy Holly, Neil Diamond, Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
My daytime outfits were casual and cool. Three tops in different colours and capris.
Black, white and a pop of red
Red, white and blue
Gray, white and a pop of pink
Collingwood is situated on the southern point of Georgian Bay. Shopping and walking around town were all part of the fun.
The highlight of this event was attending the Elvis Gospel Service (at First Baptist Church) which began with the congregation singing several Elvis gospel songs, followed by an inspirational sermon by the pastor and then “Elvis” (Corny Rempel) singing classic gospel songs. Afterward, Corny signed autographs, what a friendly guy! He was the winner of the 2015 Elvis Festival. (He also does Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty.) What a powerful voice he has!
Time to go home. Waiting for the train.
That looks like a great festival and fun outing. Yes we do our best to help the economy – love that sign. You look great in all outfits, I love also the one with Elvis – top and skirt. It looks like it was hot. I have been a gain in Germany and we had really hot weather, I loved it. We went to see the caves on the Alb. Pictures coming soon.

I like the sign too! I told my husband years ago that I shop to help the economy, but he says that I don’t have to do it all by myself! 😉

Haha, I do believe he is right! Unfortunately…. shopping is fun though!

I see now the other tops have the tie detail Carmen! Those pants definitely fooled me into thinking they were a skirt! Have a nice evening, Terri xo.

What a wonderful festival Carmen ! I was young when Elvis died but he was such an icon through his voice and looks! I also love the other performers impersonating legends of country music along with Frankie Valli . You look fabulous as usual in the cute tops and capris . I love the tie up sleeves on the first top and the fun pair of capris. The blue top is a nice bold pop of color and goes great with the capris. You gotta love white pants in summer also. The last look with the white skirt and pretty hat is so nice to go to a service in. Loving the pink ribbon! Aww it is a pity the train wont come anymore ! Thanks for the post, Terri xo.

The tribute artists are very talented and great entertainers! Elvis died when he was only 42 and little did he know that 42 years after his death there would be festivals with singers imitating his voice and style.
All three tops are the same style with the ties on the sleeves, which I really like and that’s why I bought them in different colours. Capris are my trademark in the summer. The last outfit looks like a skirt but is actually loose pants. I’ll be showing them in my next post. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!

How many capris and how many beautiful things, looks, outfits and places. The queen of capri in all its splendor, with different colors and different proposals, all wonderful. I also love your latest proposal, with the straw hat, you look so elegant and romantic! I love all looks, and in all the photos you appear beautiful!

Thank you so much Josep-Maria! I smile every time you call me the Queen of Capri! 🙂 It’s true, I do wear them a lot in the summer. The last outfit is actually loose pants that look like a skirt and you will see them in my next post. 🙂
