We took the road less traveled on this amazing summer afternoon to a lavender oasis in Southern Ontario.
My love affair with lavender started many years ago as a child and was rekindled again when I started buying lavender products: from candles and fragrance sachets to lotion and shampoo. The scent is heavenly! It’s a healthy addiction!
St. Jacobs Farmers Market has a lavender booth; MiKel’s Lavender Oasis—Mike and his wife Kelly are owners of a lavender farm about an hour from where we live. What a delight to be in a lavender garden!
They have a little shop in a rustic old barn. Anyone know (or remember) what this machine beside me is?
Life is good and lavender makes it sweeter!

Thank you so much! I love wearing white especially in the summer and a sun hat is practical and makes me feel nostalgic. That bulky machine in an old-fashioned wringer washer for washing clothes. 🙂

I love Lavender too, have 2 pots in my garden. A farm is even better, oh that wonderful smell. Is your funny machine a ‘Schleuder’ sorry that is the German name I don’t know the English one. There is still one in my mum’s house in the ‘Waschkueche’. Still working too , probably about 50 years old. 🙂

Another thing we both love–lavender! 💜 This machine is an old wringer washer. After washing the clothes, you had to put them through the wringer to squeeze out the water. I never used one but I remember my mom washing clothes with it before she bought a modern washing machine.

Lavender is such a lovely fragrance Carmen , be it candles or lotions , it is a healthy addiction! This lavender garden looks beautiful. I do not know what the machine is you are pictured with!! You lady look the epitome of femininity in that outfit!!! I love it. the eyelet skirt is always nice on you and pairs great with the white button up blouse . The hat is so cute with the flowing ribbon in lavender trailing in the back. The photo of you standing by the lavender looking off in the distance could be a scene on a priceless painting! Thank you very much for your comment! Lavender needs full sun and well-drained soil. Too much rain is not good. I’d like to grow some in our garden but we have too much shade.
