We went shopping in the little tourist town of St. Jacobs. No one would guess these pinstripe palazzos are actually pajama pants. I’ve never worn them as pajamas even though they are 100% cotton and 100% comfortable.
I bought them about 12 years ago with the intention of wearing them as stylish lounging wear and realized they were fine for going out too. Worn with my Elisa Cavaletti shirt makes me feel classy.
Shirt: Elisa Cavaletti (made in Italy)
Necklace: Star Store on Whidbey Island
Pinstripe PJs: Jacob Lingerie (Canadian store)
Sandals: made in Italy
A Slow Fashion Outfit
The only thing new is my necklace, everything else I’ve had for years. Having said that, I did buy five things on this shopping excursion, from small businesses: a pink scarf, leggings, nonleather sandals, pink tulips and a puzzle game (that I had as a child) for my grandchildren to play when they come over.
Oh wow, I would never have said or thought “That lady is wearing pajama bottoms!” They look great on you Carmen . The whole outfit is exquisite , the shirt is very nice with lots of lovely details to it and goes well with the black top. The daisy print bag is very cute also. You look just as amazing in the latest photo as the one from 10 years ago ! Have a nice day , Terri xo.

Thank you so much Ute! I get a lot of wear out of this shirt, it goes with many of my outfits–this being one of my favourites–and great protection from the sun. 🙂

I love the way this outfit still looks fresh and modern ten years after you first wore it. By choosing classics and taking care of your clothes, you’re minimizing your impact on the environment.

So true Nanette, choose classics and quality. We are living a “minimal waste” lifestyle as I call it. Each of us can make a difference! Thank you for caring!

Thanks so much Jodie! Choosing quality clothes and taking care of them helps a lot to make them last. Another good thing is living in a time where we don’t have to conform to what fashion dictates and that we can wear any length skirt and skinny jeans or wide palazzo pants. We can wear a new trend fresh off the sewing machine or vintage styles. New or old, let’s keep clothes out of landfills as much as possible. 🙂

Thanks so much Nancy! I’m pretty faithful when it comes to fashion. My mom was the same, when we buy something we love it forever. Even if something wasn’t “in style” she said to hang on to it, it will come back in style. Now look at the retro and vintage trend. 🙂
