We always enjoy great adventures every time we visit Seattle and there are always new places to explore, but we never miss a chance to go to the Fremont Flea Market, it’s on our to do list every time!
We never go home empty-handed because there’s always something unique or a treasure we find: from jewellery and clothes to antiques and memorabilia.
I spotted this little red suit case like the one I had when I was five (which didn’t survive my childhood) and I remember carrying it proudly onto the plane when we left Germany in 1957 to live in Canada.
The coat Jean is holding in the photo above was a fabulous find: it’s reversible and looks custom designed.
Flea markets can be a lot of fun. And every so often you can find a treasure there.

The flea market looks like a lot of fun Carmen! I have not been to one in years but need to explore for one. How nice you found a suitcase like the one you used leaving Germany. It will always enhance the memory now. I just LOVE Jean’s coat. It is a fabulous design that makes you stand out but add the fact that you have 2 design is so amazing! I love your doll and the suitcase is just right for a trip she wants to take. You will get great use out of your new coat in the months ahead. When will we have Spring Carmen ?? We both need it soon!! Have a great weekend, Terri xo.

Thanks so much Terri! I wish there were two coats like Jean’s, I would have bought one too. It was very inexpensive and like new. You’re so right, the little red suitcase does enhance the memory. For me, tangible things are such wonderful reminders of happy memories! I have a photo of me with my little red suitcase somewhere, but it’s a black and white photo.
Looking forward to Springtime when I can wear this coat again. At the moment I have to bundle up, as you do too! 😦 Have a lovely weekend! 🙂

I love Flea markets, you never know what you can find. Seems to be brilliant one in Seattle. I like to sell on Flea markets too. We are going to have a Jumble trail in our street where I can sell my own stuff in front of my house… I can’t wait, I am clearing out a lot ans see if I can sell things.

Wish I could come to your Jumble Trail! Please take photos and do a blog post. 🙂 We have garage sales and yard sales here in Canada. Anyone can sell their stuff anytime on their driveway or front yard. I’ve heard it called a boot sale in Britain.
When the weather warms up, my husband goes every Saturday morning (I go sometimes) there’s always garage sales somewhere in our city every week. He’s an avid treasure hunter. I’ve had several garage sales in front of my house over the years. Perhaps I’ll have one again this spring.
Then we have street sales–which sounds like your Jumble Trail–where whoever wants to participate in the neighbourhood, sells their things in front of their own house on the same day. We even have a little town nearby where the whole town has an annual event to have garage and yard sales, with food vendors and craft booths in the park. Also vintage car shows and entertainment.

Yes Carmen, our Jumble Trail is only local to my road and the neighbouring roads, someone form the street organised it. It will be on 28th April. We had one last year and I sold really well. You are right other sales like that are called Car boot sales, which I have been to loads either to sell myself or to browse. They are only on between April and October. I love them very much. I shall take some photos of mine and post it. I am a the moment making wall hangings out of odd beads and copper wire or string to sell as a bit of hand made stuff. It’s fun. I’ll show one in a post soon. Love Ute ♥

I should clarify, we can have garage sales anytime during the warmer weather. No one has them in winter – lol – so people usually start in May through September. 🙂
I think it’s great to keep things out of landfills and you know the old adage: one man’s junk is and there man’s treasure! Or woman’s, as the case may be. 🙂
Sounds lovely that you are making handmade crafts to sell, you are very creative! Looking forward to seeing your art! ❤️

I’m very happy that you had fun during your visit to Seattle. Surely in the flea market you found pretty things like that flirty briefcase. I love your look, red and black, the beautiful jacket, the pants that look perfect on you, your booties so original … Your teddy bears will appreciate the gift you bought them.

I miss Seattle, but I miss Jean even more! Fremont is my favourite flea market and I have collected some unique items there over the years. Jean was also wearing red and black by coincidence, we did not plan that. 🙂 The little red suitcase can be used for a briefcase and I can also use it for my dance shoes. The little keys were only $1. for 6 keys and the man gave me one for free. 🙂
