Every time I fly feels like the first time! I never lose the excitement of driving to the airport and boarding the plane, the thrill of hearing the jet engines roar as we lift off and fly up to Seventh Heaven!
As I watch the world disappear, I am in awe of the whole experience, it feels magical!
Then there’s the anticipation of our destination, which is Seattle this time–my home away from home–because our daughter lives there.
The plane we are about to board in Toronto …
A stopover in Salt Lake City, just enough time for a stretch and to buy some post cards.
Seattle airport is a familiar sight, my fifth time visiting Jean’s beautiful city since she moved here.
My travelling outfit–first day in Seattle
Coat: Frank Lyman (non wool)
Scarf: (hemp and cotton)
Pants: Nygard (faux suede and faux leather)
Shoes: Riekers (non leather)

You are certainly missing some frigid winter weather.
I posted on my timeline the snow fall that Anacaster received.
Enjoy your travels. In your spare moments (haha), do think of your dancing friends who miss your classes. (Hmmm …..guess not …. 😀
I do enjoy reading and viewing your blog and the responses. What fun it must have been to fly in your Dad’s four-seater.plane.
The post cards evoked pleasant memories of last winter’s vacation.

Well, that’s one thing I don’t miss–frigid weather! I don’t miss the snow either! I’ve seen enough snow in my lifetime. I love these winter days that feel like springtime! 🙂 Flying in my dad’s plane are certainly happy memories of my childhood! 🙂

It is a wonderful experience flying Carmen , especially when you are visiting a family member(s) and are so excited to see them ! It is nice also on a clear day to see the land below and wonder at God’s creation. Your outfit looks comfy for a flight in the winter time , I love the pants with the houndstooth coat and matching shoes. My first flight was London to Dublin as a baby ! My second flight was the return journey 22 years later! Happy Friday Carmen , Terri xo .

Indeed, I marvel at God’s magnificent creation! I’m also amazed at what people have built when I look down on a megacity like Toronto (by day) and then Seattle (by night) with all the lights shining as far as the eyes can see! 🙂
My coat is perfect for the mild temperature in Seattle, it will be suitable for spring and autumn back home. 🙂
Were you born in London?
Happy Friday!

Yes it is amazing looking down at city light from above Carmen! I was born in London! My parents went to London from Ireland in the late 50’s for work and spent 16 years there. My older Sister and myself were born there but I was 18 months old when we came “home” I really never think of myself as English and now am in the states! Happy Sunday, Terri xo.

Imagine your happiness when getting on a plane to Seattle, and the excitement when you see your airport! Jean is already close! You chose a very nice look to travel, the pants and jacket are beautiful and the scarf and shoes complement in a great way. You look really beautiful, your foreground is pure life, pure beauty!

Thank you very much for your kind words! Oh yes! What a joy it is to see Jean again! The weather is so much milder in Seattle with no snow, it feels like springtime! We are enjoying many nice excursions, and of course, shopping in Jean’s eco boutique. 🙂

I am so pleased that you had a safe and pleasant flight dear Carmen. In 1986 I flew Delta from San Diego to Atalanta, only two passengers, myself in the economy and someone in first. It was nice to stretch out on the plane 🙂 ❤

Only two passengers? That’s unheard of nowadays. I remember our flight from London, England to Frankfurt, Germany (in 1994) had several seats empty so I was able to let my two big teddy bears have their own seats beside me. Boy, did they get some looks! 😀

I need this kind of perspective when flying. Because it can be a hassle. Yet really it’s quite amazing. I need to remember to look at it like a kid would.

My dad had a 4-seater plane when my brother and I were kids, I think that also gave me a love for flying. He would take us all over Ontario and what would take many hours in the car, took only a short time with the plane. That’s part of the thrill and wonder I feel, leaving my home in the morning and being thousands of miles away in the evening. It’s such a strange feeling when we go home again: having breakfast with Jean and sleeping in our own bed that night.

You know, I fly so often to Germany – not that far, but I still love the buzz too and love flying. Once I am up and enjoy the sun over the clouds I read a good book and enjoy! Hope you enjoy Seattle!
