Niagara-on-the-Lake in Autumn

With so many pleasant autumn days, we had another chance to drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake this month. The sun was shining, no wind and it’s always a little warmer on the Niagara Peninsula. First stop, the Lavender Shop, always a treat for the senses: the fragrance, the colour and the taste of lavender cookies. 🙂

This romantic town is on the edge of Lake Ontario, and it’s just a few blocks from the lake to the heart of town.

Lavender knitted top

This new-to-me knitted top looks crocheted and is a gift from my dear friend Mioara.

We enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the streets admiring homes and gardens, and an afternoon of window shopping (that’s right, I didn’t buy anything) and then a veggie panini for dinner before heading home. So many flowers still in bloom. I’d love to live here but real estate is very pricy.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  2. That color is lovely on you and such a nice soft palette for the end of summer, like the garden just winding down. And the town you’re visiting is so so charming! Exploring new little towns is one of my favorite activities.

  4. Hi Carmen, the lavender shop looks like a place I could visit , I love the teapots and other china! I remember your previous post from Niagara on the lake and it must have been fun to return. Such a great friend to knit you the top, it is gorgeous! The floral pants have a lovely print to go with the outfit. I love the purse and scarf to finish it all off. I could live in this town too! Such nice houses and shops. Happy friday, hugs, Terri xo.

Oh yes, you’d absolutley love it! We go every year. Accessories are a fun part of playing dress-ups. 😉 The little purse was a gift from one of my dance students. She is so sweet. All I did was compliment her on this purse and she gave it to me right there on the spot!

Thanks so much Hunida! I always buy something in the Lavender Shop, the lotions are luxurious and I just love the fragrance! Made in Canada. In early July people can go on a tour of the lavender field. 🙂

  7. Hi, Carmen – The colors of your outfit are so delicate and beautiful! And guess what? They are soft, end-of-summer colors. They go perfectly with your desire to extend summer. 😀 Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Thanks so much Angie! Lavender extends the summer feeling! Why wait for spring to wear lavender and pink, right? I enjoy these soft shades all year round, I even have a pink winter coat. It gives me a lift on dreary winter days.

How beautiful these pants! The printing is so delicate and beautiful! I can always relate the mauve or lavender color with you and with Niagara. The look is beautiful and delicate and the photos of the place are always wonderful.

Thanks very much Josep-Maria! I’ve gotten a lot of wear out of these pants, cost-per-wear they owe me nothing. Wish I had bought two pairs! lol Glad you liked the photos of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
