Shopping in St. Jacobs

St. Jacobs is a quaint little village, perfect for a day trip if you’re in Southern Ontario (not far from Kitchener and Waterloo). I love shopping and supporting local businesses. The owners and employees are always helpful and friendly, small-town hospitality.

On my last visit, I bought this salmon colour top at Xclusive Elements. It was the laces on one shoulder that got my attention. The fabric is super soft and drapes nicely. The slight flare gives it a bit of a peplum look.

I’ve bought several things at Rhumba. Ashley is the manager and was in today. She looked so fashionable, so I asked if I could take her photo and include her in my post.

There are so many delightful shops and Magnolia’s is another one.

There’s a Maple Syrup Museum with a model train display (a replica of the village). Great to take the children (or grandchildren in my case).

The Eco Cafe has delicious vegan ice cream. We had strawberry and rhubarb.

There’s an art gallery (with beautiful paintings for sale) adjacent to the coffee shop.

If you go on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday durning the summer, you can stop by the St. Jacobs market for fresh produce and so much more. The rest of the year the market is open on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The Lavender shop

St. Jacobs is a charming tourist town, it makes shopping an enjoyable adventure!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. How beautiful your shirt, it is very original. And with your white look is great. A soft and delicate outfit very appropriate for you. How beautiful the photo of your grandchildren and how beautiful those stores, I suppose you are happy over there. You are beautiful and your poses so feminine and delicate are beautiful.

Thank you so very much Josep-Maria! You know how much I love white, especially in summer, this time I added a peachy-pink shade, a colour that I did not have before.

You’d love the lavender shop! The fragrance is exhilarating! The owner has a lavender field that I wanted to visit this summer, but it’s too late, the harvest is done. I’d love to have photos taken in a lavender field.

Hallo Anja! 🙂

Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best! We went to a Maple Syrup Farm this spring, it’s very interesting to compare the old-fashioned way with modern methods. Either way, maple syrup is delicious!

  8. Hi Carmen, this top is so pretty on you , I like the laces detail too , the colour is nice and I do see the little flare. The white jeans look a good match to the top. The Lady in rhumba is very stylish, like you! I love her wall of cute purses. It is so nice to explore small towns and contribute to the economy. Have a great day, hugs, Terri xo.

Thanks so much Terri! I agree in helping the economy, that’s what I tell hubby. He says that I don’t have to do it all by myself – lol. The top is a pretty pastel. I love my white jeans so much that I bought a second pair (I also have several pairs of white capris) everything looks so fresh and summery with white. We’ll be taking our visitors from Europe when they arrive this week.

I agree! We’re two of a kind Jodie and I always appreciate your comments! The atmosphere in small towns makes the experience so enjoyable! One of the reasons I shop at thrift shops is so with the money I save, I can buy quality clothes and shop at local stores and boutiques. 🙂
