Live a Little

One doesn’t need a lot of money to enjoy the little pleasures in life and to live a little!

By live a little – I mean, let’s learn to live with a little less: appreciate what we have and spend more time going for walks together and enjoying each others company. Treasure people more than possessions.

Thrifting is one of the ways to live more simply: finding one-of-a-kind treasures, easy on the pocket book and keeps things out of landfills.

This 100% cotton top is thrifted (Dream Desigual) with a fun print, kangaroo pocket and a hoodie. A casual look with faded blue jeans for relaxing.

These shiny canvas shoes are perfect for this casual outfit and I’m ready for a walk in the woods. Walking is a great way to keep active; the only equipment you need are two legs and it’s free with a lifetime membership.

Walking in nature and breathing fresh air fills the senses with awe and appreciation for God’s creation!

Best things in life are free!

  • love
  • walking in the woods
  • strolling through a neighbourhood
  • exploring trails on a bike
  • playing games
  • taking your children/grandchildren to a park
  • going to the library
  • watching sunrises and sunsets
  • dreaming
  • hugs

Live simply! Love generously!

Share hugs and kisses!

  1. Excellent advice! We definitely do not need that much to be fine and ok and, yes, “live a little”. When it comes to outfits, so, I’m usually sewing them. I find that I do not like much of what is at stores.
You look fabulous in this outfit!

    Hi, Carmen
I love that top! What a score 😀 I love walking in the woods. You’re lucky to have them so close!
Thanks for the inspiration on both points,

Thanks so much Angie! You never know what treasure you’ll find in a thrift shop. Hope you have time to walk through Central Park on your mini vacation — it’s one of my favourite parks in the world! The North Woods feels like you’re in the wilderness far away from a huge city! 🙂

I love the list of wonderful things that can be done to be happy without spending money. I love your vision of life, so simple and positive. And, of course, I love your look. I love your sweatshirt, Desigual always worked with very nice and funny prints. And, as always, the jeans fit your wonderful legs to turn this basic garment into something elegant. You look beautiful with this hairstyle, and I love being able to admire the backside and those curls so beautiful that nobody looks more attractive than you! Beauty and happiness in simplicity, in dress and in doing, that is your wonderful personality.

Oh my, such a lovely compliment Josep-Maria! I do wish my hair was naturally curly, but it is done with a curling iron. I’m glad you like my list. You could add to the list walking along the beach or on mountain paths, you are blessed to live by the Mediterranean with mountains not too far away.

Smiles are free: so easy to give and a pleasure to receive! 🙂

I’m totally with you on your list! Love all those free things and they make you feel sooooooo wonderful! I do give and buy from Charity shops as they are called here – not thrift – and as I do gift aid, I know how much the charity gets from my items. It is a great way to reuse and recycle and it makes again someone else happy and helps a good cause too. Hugs to you Carmen ♥

Yes, I do remember the Charity Shops while in Scotland, like Oxfam. Reuse and recycle helps our world and supports some wonderful charities.

      Hugs and smiles! 🙂

I couldn’t agree more, Carmen. It’s really not the things that make us happy, but our experiences and the people in our lives!! Although we do have to get dressed every day….ha ha!!
