Black and White Checkered Duster

Black and white has to be one of my favourite duos when it comes to two-tone outfits. Not only do I wear this combo a lot, but I’ve even packed black and white clothes on two vacations and plan to do it again next trip because it means I don’t need to pack much and everything matches. Even clothes I buy while on holiday will go with black and white.

Originally dusters were long, loose, lightweight coats that horsemen wore to protect their clothing from dust. Then men and women wore dusters when riding in open carriages and cars.

Now we wear dusters as a fashion statement and this one caught my attention with its big, bold black and white checks. I can wear it now with black corduroy leggings and black booties.

Dress rehearsal for spring–I’ll be able to wear it with white skinny jeans and sandals if the snow ever melts. Everything looks dead, no signs of life yet.
