February Blues and Floral Booties

We’ve had more snow flurries and freezing rain this cold February, reminding us that winter is still here, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking spring and wearing flowers.

I’m so into florals this winter, kind of like a protest against the cold weather!

I was a flower child in the ’60s and you can imagine how happy I was when floral booties came in style! I bought these cute floral booties at Hudson’s Bay in the fall. They are velvety (non-leather) with comfortable block heels. Vegan purse with fringes from Drizzle and Shine eco-boutique.

I paired this baby blue cable knit sweater from Ricki’s with skinny jeans for a casual, relaxed look.

Have you bought booties with patterns: floral, leopard, paisley, plaid etc.?

Thanks for stopping by!

I’m just like you Carmen! I am soooo done with Winter. Snow, cold, then repeat way too often. Yes I too have the February Blues. Love your February look and floral booties. Nothing screams Spring like cute floral patterns. I can’t wait to break out my cute floral flats.

Fingers crossed we are both experiencing Spring like weather very soon.

I must say I never had boots with patterns. You look lovely and cosy in your outfit. Yes Winter is still here and we are supposed to get colder again next week. So back to the thicker jumpers. I do love them though! 🙂

Are patterned boots popular in Britain? I must say, I don’t see many women wearing them; it’s mostly on fashion blogs that I discovered them. Although, I do have a pair of Doc Martens in Black Watch tartan from the ’90s. I’ll show them sometime; they are my favourites so I don’t wear them often because I don’t want them to wear out. 🙂

Do you have things you don’t wear much because you don’t want to wear them out? Interesting topic for a future post. 🙂

You know when I haven’t worn anything for a year it goes….so only favourites stay in my wardrobe. I do love stuff from my sister, always brilliant quality. I change so my clothes change too… 😊 I actually wear all and don’t have things for ‘better days’ or not to wear out. I did that before and then it didn’t fit anymore. That was sad.

I live in simple and put-together outfits like this in the Winter. And a great pair of statement booties always make a big style impact. Love your boots, hot mama.

Dear Carmen, I’m not used to seeing you dressed so casually. You always wear simple, but always with some point of sophistication. Today, jeans and a sweater, something very basic. But, it is evident, that the sweater is a cute one, and that the jeans and your legs are a successful couple. And the booties … they’re cute. Ankle boots, bag and look in general give you a very nice boho look, and the girl with the flowers becomes the beautiful mature woman that you are. You look beautiful!

You are right dear Josep-Maria, this is not a typical look on my blog because it is rather casual. The sweater is warm and cozy, so it makes a perfect winter outfit. The floral booties are the focus. I appreciate your kind review as always! 🙂

  9. Hi Carmen , just as here in Minnesota, you have to think spring!! Good for you getting into a flower phase, it will show winter it cannot win over you. I love the baby blue sweater, looks so cosy on you and goes well with the jeans and cute purse. The booties look wonderful, I have not bought any booties with the patterns you mention but you might have got me thinking…! Have a nice evening Dear, hugs, Terri xo.

We think alike again Jodie! That’s not surprising! They’re so fun and comfortable! I’ll need to buy another pair for when these wear out because they may not make them anymore in a few years.
