Christmas is more than a day, it’s more than a season; for me it’s a year-long of blessings! I leave my mini white lights on in our three-seasons garden room all year round, day and night. (They are LED.)
I love going to Christmas markets, and enjoyed three this season: Etsy Christmas Crafts in Waterloo, German Christkindl Market in Kitchener and Cambridge Christmas Market in Cambridge.
Kitchener (once called Berlin) has been showcasing a traditional German Christmas market for 20 years. My grandchildren go for the giant soft pretzels and the amusing miniature train village.
This was my first time going to the Cambridge Christmas Market (the city where I teach dance 5 days a week). I absolutely loved it from the moment I stepped in the doors and heard the sound of Christmas carols.

Hand made cards: some with a nostalgic design, some very modern, something for every occasion.
Upcycled purses and clutches made from upholstery fabric samples, durable and one-of-a-kind patterns.
My red velvet top has a paisley pattern and ruffled bell sleeves.
On the last day/evening of all my dance classes, we had parties for each class. I’ve been to several Christmas dances and luncheons. The highlight was being invited to Marilyn’s Victorian Christmas Tea. Such a delightful afternoon with lovely ladies!
My grandchildren were surprised to receive a package in the mail, an early present from Auntie Jean in Seattle. She sent them vegan chocolate Advent calendars to countdown the days till Christmas.
It’s always a joy to watch my granddaughter at her Christmas dance recital every year. Her first year Highland dancing, the girls dressed up like snowmen and danced to Frosty the Snowman. This time they dressed in Christmas pyjamas and danced to Welcome Christmas. So cute!
I enjoy decorating our home, I start early and I leave the decorations up through January because it brightens up the winter.

It looks so beautiful everything, including all you ladies. I was with my mum in Germany and it was really lovely. A special time with family! Love the markets and your decorations!

Thanks so much Ute! As you know, I start my decorations early. I’m in no rush to pack them away because it make the long, harsh winter more bearable to come in from the cold and see everything looking like a storybook! I even had “Christmas in July” for my dance class and played Christmas music. I also had a children’s party “Teddy Bear Christmas” in the summer, I put up a tree and decorated for Christmas! The children brought their teddy bears and we had lunch and presents for the children. 🙂
What a blessing that you spent Christmastime with your mum in Germany! I hope to see photos! I have not had a Christmas in Germany since 1982. 😦

Such great Pics Carmen, I love your red velvet top! Your house is beautifully decorated , you put a lot of effort into it.
