One of the reasons I have a closet full of fall jackets is because I take care of my things and tend to have them a long time, another reason is because I love thrifting.
These are some of my autumn jackets, six of them were thrifted, can you guess which ones? (Answers below.)
I love red jackets to brighten up dreary days.
This colourful jacket by Parsley and Sage warms up cool weather.
Black goes with everything and this coat is light weight for not-too-cold autumn days.
I only wear faux fur because I love the look without cruelty to our animal friends.
The leopard and tiger print are both velvet.
R.E.D. Valentino jacket, made in Italy–this warm jacket can take me into winter weather. It has a thermal insulation, feather-free.
My favourite jacket–winter white faux fur by Joseph Ribkoff, made in Canada. It has a hood and two-way zipper. Always makes me feel like I’m going somewhere special. The quality is superb, I’ve had it for 10 years!
Herringbone jacket (with toggles and hood) looks like a vest because of the black sleeves. My daughter Jean explains why we don’t wear wool. Jean also has a fabulous post about wool alternatives.
This 3/4 length coat has a mini houndstooth print, it’s a feminine, flare style with big silver buttons on one side.
I’ve always loved double-breasted jackets. The ruffles and belt adds details that I look for when buying clothes.
I can’t wear this jacket on very cold autumn days but it’s great for mild weather in springtime too. I’m already fed up with the freezing temperatures and winter hasn’t even begun!
When skies are grey, this blue jacket from Germany cheers me up. It reminds me of an awesome summer in Germany every time I wear it. It has a hood and draw-string waist.
I bought this grey jacket in Seattle and it’s waterproof with a hood.
And now for the answer to my question: the first coat is from Drizzle and Shine, my daughter’s eco boutique in Seattle, the next six jackets are thrifted, the rest were bought new or gifted.
Stay warm!
❤ carmen

Hi Carmen , I LOVE your jacket collection! It is important to look after them and you can have one for every occasion. The red is really nice to brighten your day! The leopard and tiger prints are really lovely and I am sure the velvet feels great on. The faux fur is very pretty and ideal for a dressy occasion, I love your updo in this pic too! The mini houndstooth looks a great fit and I like how you wore the skirt and tights with it. The German jacket looks great for all sort of casual endeavors . Thank you for taking us on your coat modelling journey Carmen, hugs, Terri xo.

Thank you so much Terri! It’s getting too cold for some of these jackets now and I’m dreading the long, cold winter! At least I have some fashionable winter coats I’ll be able to wear again, like this one …

Thanks so much Patti! The faux fur is so soft, I actually have total strangers ask to touch it. It happened on the weekend in a mall. I’m quick to point out that it’s fake. 🙂
Merry Christmas!🎄

How many beautiful jackets, how many beautiful looks, how much beauty and elegance collected! I knew some of the jackets and I had also seen some of those looks. Some I love, and I like them all. The wonderful white jacket for your gala occasions, the beautiful proposals of fake fur, the red of Carmen, the multicolored prints … so much style, so much elegance, so attractive. And when I see the looks, I can also admire your magnificent hairstyles: the beautiful blond hair, the sophisticated bows, the youthful and funny pigtails. And highlighting in all the photos your beautiful smile and your beautiful gray eyes. And, to round off the post, your wonderful ethical criteria …

It will take me a while to reply, since I’m sick with the flu and don’t know my measurements to be sure. I will reply, though! ❤️

Carmen, wow, i love all of them on you! i too, don’t wear real fur as i find the faux fur is made so well and dont beleive wearing it because of the animals! i think if i lived back at my hometown Pa, that i would own more coats, as there are beautiful ones out there. In my climate, i collect moto jackets! I really was quite excited to see your Joseph Ribkoff one, is looks amazing! i trried to get a burgundy faux fur by him for the collab, but they sold out! I also love the plaid that flares,so very pretty Carmen. Happy Holidays to you!

Thank you so much Jess! I’m very happy you wear faux fur too! As fashion bloggers, we can promote compassion in fashion. We can raise awareness of this cruel industry and show amazing alternatives! We can vote with our dollars. I thought of you when I added my Joseph Ribkoff jacket because you recently did a wonderful review of this Canadian company. 🙂
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄

Thank you Kristie! On the downside, there’s no room in our front closet for my husband’s coats, but it’s partly his fault. He’s an enabler who buys me all my thrifted jackets and coats because he loves thrifting. 🙂

Thank you Jodie! There’s a few more that I didn’t include and then I have my winter coats. I’m embraced to say, I use the whole front closet for my jackets and coats (no room for hubby’s. 😦 )
