NORTHERN REFLECTIONS: Blue Denim

Version 2Meandering through the mall with my grandchildren recently, I passed by Northern Reflections (Canadian women’s apparel) and this denim blue crocheted cardigan caught my eye. Of course, I had to buy it because it reminds me of my mom and my crocheting days. She taught me how to crochet and we made lots of things, including a dress, vest, scarf and hat. Do you crochet?

Northern Reflections opened their first store in Guelph, Ontario in 1985. Known for comfort and style, there are now over 155 stores coast to coast.

Looks great with jeans and I’m wearing a lace blouse to dress it up.

I bought the scarf there too.

My grandchildren don’t mind going to the mall when they have a treat riding the animals. Makes shopping fun for them. First time I ever saw these was in Germany.

Do you have these rides in your mall?

  1. I love this kind of look – soft and delicate. The crochet top is beautiful and the blouse even more so 🙂 🙂 . I’m not surprised you bought a scarf too = it’s lovely. Cheers – Margot 🙂

Lovely crocheting, I learnt how to crochet in school and made a “Pollunder” like a pullover without arms. I wore it often as a child. It was black , yellow and red, almost like the German flag, unintended though. I do like crocheting, at the moment I just crochet little hearts. I do love that cardigan!

Thank you Ute! Your pollunder sounds lovely, especially the colours of the German flag. The flag came to my mind immediately as I was reading. Crocheting is very relaxing.

You wear this outfit well and you were very brave to be driven around the mall Carmen. Scary !
No, I can’t crochet, but used to play cricket. Is that the same ? 😉 ❤

Ha ha! Oh, it wasn’t as scary as it looks Ralph. The monkey was very tame. You mean croquet 😉 that is a game played by knocking wooden balls through wire wickets with mallets. Crochet is like knitting, now you know. My blog is very educational. 🙂 Are crickets like grasshoppers, we don’t play with them in Canada. 😉

I love the crochet jacket, it’s cute. And, of course, I love your lace blouse, so pretty, so romantic, so sweet. The print of the scarf is beautiful and looks perfect in the look you have prepared. As always, I love your red booties, and, of course, how the jeans look on you, on your beautiful legs. The video is very nice and cute. All the photos are beautiful, but the last one is especially beautiful, or maybe you are especially beautiful.

Thanks a lot Melinda! There’s a huge selection of animals to choose from, this one is a monkey. I would look silly riding around the mall by myself, but I can get away with it because I have grandchildren 🙂 Lots of adults were on with their kids and having fun. Children are a great excuse to do things we normally wouldn’t do.

What a wonderful piece to purchase when it reminds you of a loved one, Carmen!! So do you still crochet? I’ve dabbled in it—the last project I crocheted were converse sneakers for a new born. Needless to say, I had to make 5 of them, in order to create 2 that looked about the same—ha ha!
Let’s just say that my gauge is much better with knitting!! 🙂

Thank you so much Jodie! I can’t knit, I tried but I found crocheting way easier. Blogging has taken over my life, so there’s no time for crocheting anymore. Really, with work, family and blogging there’s not much time left–lol–except for dancing. I always make time for dancing! 🙂
