Ballard Locks, Seattle

black-and-white

This was my first time at the Ballard locks in Seattle. It was an interesting adventure!

It was fascinating to see the locks open and watch the boats go by from kayaks to cargo ships. It has the most boats passing through than any other lock in America and is one of Seattle’s biggest tourist attractions.

We watched the salmon from the fish ladder viewing window.

I highly recommend it if you’re ever in Seattle.

Happy February!

Happy February to you too, Carmen! I will keep your piece of advise in mind if I ever visit Seattle … a lock is an interesting solution which solves a problem of traffic.
Beautiful photo of you and your daughter!

How beautiful the photos with Jean, you look so happy at your side! And I love your look, with that nice little dress. The report is very interesting, thanks for sharing it. Seattle is a very attractive city I think, I must visit it one day. Again your blog is far from conventional and helps us to know the world, in all its facets. But no city or any place can eclipse your smile, always the best of the post.

You will love Seattle, a very interesting and beautiful city in America. I have been there 4 times and look forward to going again. Of course, the main reason I go is because my daughter lives there. It make me very happy that you enjoy my blog! Thank you so much!!

Very interesting! I didn’t visit that place in Seattle, but your post reminded me of the famous locks on Rideau canal in Ottawa. Did you have a chance to watch those locks? They are an amazing example of engineering creativity.
When do you plan to go to beautiful Seattle this year?
    I miss that city…

I love locks, it’s fun to go through them. We have locks in the vicinity and I was lucky to be on a houseboat to go through them. Real fun. It looks great there!

I’ve never even heard of these locks and we were in Seattle once. We’ll be there again in a couple of weeks. I’ll have to see if we will have time to squeeze in this event!

Hi Jodie! I remember you telling me that you are going to Seattle in February. This place is free and open to the public. I’m glad I had a chance to go.

As I mentioned to you, my daughter has an eco boutique on Capitol Hill – DRIZZLE & SHINE (link below). Hope you can stop by, just tell her I sent you and you’ll receive 10% off your purchases! 🙂

      Bon voyage!
