Brown paper packages tied up in strings

I love it when the postman delivers a package, especially from Drizzle & Shine eco-boutique, which specialize in sustainable clothing.

“We specialize in items that are kind to the earth and animals and that are made by people who are treated fairly.” Drizzle & Shine

Who made my clothes is important to me. Knowing I am buying from a company that pay their employees a living wage with good working conditions is paramount.

I simply love this gray top made in Nepal by Synergy, a fair-trade company. It’s as comfortable as a T-shirt but with style: dolman sleeves and beautiful hand-stitched detail.

When Jean contacted me to tell me that a shipment arrived from Synergy with the matching skirt, I ordered one immediately. The package arrived and I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning!

This cute scarf with little animals on it was also in the package.

A practical outfit and great for travelling; I have three different looks.

Worn with the skirt it looks like a dress.

I can wear the skirt with another top.

And wear the top with other pants or jeans.

My jacket–bought in Seattle–completes a monochromatic outfit.

Shopping at Ikea, I picked up a package of veggie balls. YUMMY! Have you tried them? My granddaughter prepared dessert.

My unique necklace is from Drizzle & Shine, hand crafted by a local artist. I love buying ethical clothing and supporting small businesses and artisans.

I love the top, it looks like a mini dress, it’s really beautiful. The skirt is cute, I like the color, the design, the volume, the flight, the length … And, especially, as it looks on you. It combines wonderfully with other things, your choice for black is perfect. Also the top looks good with your pants, then it is a more Carmen look … The jacket and the monochrome look I love, but talking about monochrome in you is impossible, your smile, your hair and your skin break any monotony and make it In beauty and joy of color. Fantastic your bet by the trade and the manufacture with justice and respect, you are an example for the consequent fashion blogs. I love all the pendants, especially the last one. And I like your vegan dishes, so rich and healthy.

Thank you very much Josep-Maria! This two-piece dress is so practical. Gray is one of my favourite neutrals. I really appreciate how you have an eye for detail. I’m sure you have an abundance of delicious vegetables and fruit in Spain! I remember you telling me about “horchata” and I have tasted this refreshing drink made from tigernuts. I would love to spend the winter in Catalonia. It would be enjoyable to relax on the beach of Tarragona while sipping this healthy drink! 🙂 It’s still cold here in Ontario, but we had a few milder days, most of the snow has melted. 🙂

      Healthy feels good! 🙂

Hi Carmen! I just brought my daughter to Jean’s store today so she could meet her and see all the great things in the store. I ended up buying a Synergy pencil skirt and my daughter got a top by Weston…I think that’s the brand. Anyway, I love Drizzle! Nice to see you in this. It looks great!
When are you coming back for a visit?

I thought I had seen the top on you before. It looks so great with the skirt, yes as a dress. It is so versatile as you can mix and match. Looks gorgeous on you! I do love the dessert, what a great idea! I definitely need to do that too and eat it having fun. 🙂

Thank you so much Jodie! Sometimes we are unaware of the dire situation of the garment industry in many countries. Hopefully, the day will come when we will see fair-trade, cruelty-free and ethically made clothing all the time. Fashion bloggers can be an integral part of creating awareness.

  8. Oh how lovely 🙂 I really admire you for your ecological aproach to life and being cosistened in implementing such ideas. Your skirt looks great, ant the version with a contrast top and a sexi 50’s belt is just perfect. I also love your jacket – it looks quite sporty but the way you are wearing it changed it into something much more elegant. Ikea is also my favourite shop – I really like all the little items they sell, they make life sooo comfortable. Your granddaughter is an artist !!!! The dessert must have been yummy 🙂 🙂 . Have a good weekend – kisses – Margot 🙂

Thanks so much Margot! Glad you like this outfit, it’s a blend of sporty and dressy. Fashion should never cause suffering for people or animals. It’s easy for us to make choices that are kind. 🙂

      We can make a difference!
