September in Seattle

seattle

I was so excited as the plane landed at the Seattle airport and we were on our way to see my daughter and her new eco boutique! Jean was working in the store so we took the Link Light Rail to Capitol Hill. I was thrilled when I saw her store from a distance and held back tears as Jean came out to great us!

Drizzle and Shine is a beautiful store, but it is much more than that. It is a boutique filled with eco items, showcasing local designers, fair-trade and everything is cruelty-free, many items made in the USA.

“Eco items that are made to last will make you feel great. Doing good has never looked so good!” ~ Drizzle and Shine

I packed a small carryon suitcase with black a white clothes, knowing I would be on a shopping spree in this delightful shop. Jean’s store has clothes, shoes, purses, jewellery, accessories, socks, tights, underwear–everything a girl needs. There’s even a men’s section.

Super soft camisole sets and bamboo tights in a variety of colours.

The moment I stepped in the door, a dress called my name! You know how that is, right? The colour, the style, the fit and the fabric–organic cotton, so soft and comfy.

Thank you so much Margot! My black fringe purse is from Jean’s store: a very good quality non-leather bag. I bought the shoes in Canada, also non-leather.

I am very happy that my daughter has followed her passion with eco fashion. I believe more and more fashionable women (and men) will choose to buy ethical clothing as we learn more about the misery that exists in this world. We can all help to make it a better place for everyone, including animals. 🙂

That illusion to see more photos of Jean’s Store! I would love to visit this place at some point, and would love to have a similar store in my town. Jean has learned of you to love nature and to respect it. It is evident that little cotton dress with your name! “De Carmen”! It seems designed for you, and your improvements and beautify it further. I love that look, so delicate and so simple, like you, delicate and beautiful!

Thank you kindly Josep-Maria! I love her store so much and we need one in Kitchener and in your city (every city should have an ethical clothing store). You will see this cotton dress again because I wore it several times while in Seattle and also to meet with Joni.

Not sure why I didn’t get your other comments, but these two are here. Thanks again for supporting small businesses and ethical fashion! You’ll be the first one to know (after Jean) when I book my next flight. 🙂

    Hi Carmen!
I was just visiting with Jean today, and bought a few nice things. I love her shop, what it stands for, and becoming more aware of some things I didn’t know before.
I’ve tried to comment on your blog a few times but I don’t seem to have the requirements, or know how, since I don’t have a facebook or a google plus. I’m going to try again though!
It was great meeting you and getting to know you a little. Wish we could have tea again sometime!
