My Daughter: the American Eco Boutique Owner

My daughter Jean (from Jean of all Trades: a style guide and Sunshine and Slaughter: Vegan for Life) has had two monumental achievements this year: she became an American citizen and opened her own eco boutique Drizzle and Shine.

Jean

Jean followed her dream and took a leap of ‘fate’ to pursue her passion. After hard work and vision, she opened the doors of Drizzle and Shine on Capitol Hill in Seattle in May.

She’s had wonderful reviews and great support from friends and customers. The time is ripe and as more and more people are concerned about fair-trade and animal cruelty, her boutique for men and women is the place to shop ethically.

More than any other achievement, it makes me immensely happy that Jean is working towards making this world a better place for people and animals. If there’s one thing that makes me most happy, it’s to have a kind and compassionate daughter.

Jean has been an ethical shopper for many years. These purses are vegan, by Crystalyn Kae made in the USA. So soft and durable: feels and looks like leather. Jean says, “Showing up to a party with the same dress is unconscionable, but showing up with matching Crystalyn Kae purses is high-fiveable!”

Jean is also an animal advocate and has four furry friends living with her: Frankie the dog and three cats (all adopted).

First, congratulations to Jean, for your wonderful store, I wish you all personal success. What the change of nationality is only a personal choice, have Canadian citizenship should also be something wonderful, I’d like to have it. LOL. It’s a joke, I guess this change is useful for everyday life.

Jean has many virtues, is intelligent, sensitive and caring, besides having much style and elegance woman. But she has another great luck, you can not buy, or study or learn, she has a wonderful mother, a mother who adores her and loves her. Jean, this is your best treasure, cherish it!

I am sure that your store will be a benchmark for ethical shopping in Seattle. Someday maybe I can visit.

    • Thank you for your kind words and your support. Don’t worry: I’m still a Canadian. I have both citizenships now. Being American makes it so much easier but I wouldn’t want to give up my Canadian citizenship!

Perhaps I’ll see you at my store one day!

You can definitely be proud of such an amazing daughter. Her shop looks super and I am sure she enjoys it very much. You will be one of her customers when you visit. 🙂 Very handy to have 2 Nationalities. I am just learning about Britain as I am going to try and get British citizenship. So my first exam is on Saturday. For the second exam I need to study a bit more of the history and more.
