This red sundress was given to me by my cousin Marion from Germany, when she came for a visit.
It belonged to her and she wore it in the ’70s.
The petite white flowers and eyelet trim add a nostalgic touch and I feel like I’m on Little House on the Prairy.
Not only are the colours perfect for Canada Day, but it suits the time period of the annual Canada Day event at the Pioneer Village we attend every year.
Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians!
Happy weekend to all!

I just love that dress!! I had something similar back in the 70’s! I do think it was the same print. Oh how I wish I had it now! You look lovely in the dress and with the that old railroad background. Happy Canada Day!

WOW!!! You’re the third one in this thread that had a similar dress! That is so cool Karen! Even though I keep almost everything, there are dresses I wish I still had too. Isn’t that railroad fantastic? I love the building with old signs and the antique bicycle on the wall.
Thank you for stopping by! 🙂

Love, love, love it! And I had a similar one in the 70’s with a blue background. I wore it with platform sandals and an ankle bracelet!

Ahhhhhh platform sandals!! That would complete this outfit, but I don’t have a pair anymore. I’m sure you looked amazing Susan! Any photos of your dress?
Thanks so much for your Strawberry Rhubarb recipe!

Another wonderful look for Canada Day. I have said many times, but I repeat: you are the most beautiful symbol of Canada. I still remember your photo wrapped in a towel with the flag of the country. The dress is cute, I love the vintage style, pattern and delicate colors. And I like the outfit, with red sandals, and your red pendant. The design is wonderful, with frills, the lace and the difference between the two patterns. Maybe you remember a little “to the House on the Prairie” this was a wonderful series of television, the protagonist was a beautiful mature woman like you. Your image, running down the railroad tracks, is very beautiful, your hair in the wind, your head down, so different from your ballet poses. The most beautiful woman in the prairie or anywhere with a wonderful dress, the perfect combination to celebrate the day of this great country … Canada.

Thank you so much Josep-Maria! You have a good memory remembering my Canada towel. 🙂 If I ever have a vacation in Spain, I will bring it with me for the beach. I have a picture of my cousin wearing this dress in the ’70s which I will post when I find it. You noticed the two different patterns, again I say that you have a keen eye for detail and that is what makes you such a good fashion expert.
The Little House on the Prairie is a classic series and I always thought Caroline Ingalls was sweet and lovely. Thank you for comparing me to such a beautiful lady as Karen Grassle.

Thank you Melinda! It was my cousin Marion that kept it for all these years and now gave it to me. I do keep clothes a long time because I like them and they still fit because I’m the same size as I was when I was 14. 😛
Happy 4th of July my American friend!

Being vegetarian until you became vegan and your active energetic life style have enabled you to be the same size as when you were 14…. an admirable role model for all who know you. 😀

Happy Canada Day to You Carmen. What a lovely dress for the day. I love dresses like that and had some in the late 70’s too. ( for my ‘Abschlussball’ I had a very similar one in blue, I loved the ‘Volants’ on the bottom.) Great colour and fun to wear! Enjoy Canada Day and the weekend Carmen.
