Today the doors of a new eco boutique opened on Capitol Hill, Seattle.
Drizzle & Shine is an eco boutique that grew out of a style blog. While blogging about fashion, boutique owner Jean White learned about major ethical concerns in the fashion industry. The more she looked for ethical options, the more she wished there was one place in Seattle to find clothes by companies whose values she shares.
She found eco clothing, but they were often made with wool, silk, and leather. She found clothing free of animal products, but didn’t often know how the items were made. At Drizzle & Shine, we’ve curated collections that are kind to animals, earth, and people.

Jean White has been vegan for years. Her new Capitol Hill eco boutique has been vegan for all of one day.
Drizzle + Shine opened Wednesday in a commercial space along 15th Ave E on the Group Health Capitol Hill campus.
“I’ve been vegan for 16 years,” White tells CHS. “I extended that to my clothing.”

Thanks so much for writing about me and the store I’ve opened! I’m thrilled with the coverage so far. People are happy to discover clothing and shoes that are kind to animals, the earth, and their fellow humans. It should be the norm, not a specialty. I hope this movement grows!

You’re welcome Jean, happy to promote what you are doing and thankful that your new store is doing so well. One of my dance students went to Seattle with her granddaughter last week, but I did not know she was going. Her granddaughter is vegan and they went to some shops, my friend thinks they may have been at your store and she’s going to check with her granddaughter and show her your Drizzle and Shine website.
Now when will you start a chain, so we can have one in Kitchener? Every city needs an eco boutique for women and men!

I am really happy for Jean, Carmen. I do hope her business takes off and does well in these difficult times. An original idea which should work as a lot of women are becoming more eco-friendly.
