Easter: more than bunnies and chocolate

cute-bunny

Although I love cute bunnies, Easter is much more than bunny rabbits. The true meaning of Easter is about LOVE. GOD’S AMAZING LOVE!

Although I love dark chocolate, Easter is much more than chocolate. It’s when God showed us how much He loves us! EVERYONE in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!

Every Easter Sunday I do a dance at church in celebration of God’s love and the Resurrection.

It’s also wonderful to share the love with family and friends together for a meal.

Vegetarian PASTA PUTTANESCA

I once had an adorable real-live rabbit that I named Benjamin.

Thought I’d show you some bunnies I collect …

Some of my bunnies were gifts from my dance students, family and friends.

Weather report in my corner of the world, well … take a look at photos taken this Easter weekend. Definitely does NOT look like spring! Crocuses were peeking through the ground on our front lawn last week in hopes of spring, but winter is not letting go!

It is definitely a magical sight to see trees of crystal sparkling in the sunshine (it is breathtakingly glorious!). However, it is sad that we lose trees and branches. There is continuous crackling sounds in the forest behind my house even as I type.

Happy Easter my dear friends!!
God is love!

    Ok, here is my recipe for 2 large servings of Quinoa and Raw Vegetables Salad:
    2/3 cup quinoa – cooked in a medium saucepan of boiling water until tender (10-15 min); transfer quinoa in a bowl while still warm;
    On top of quinoa add immediately:
    1/2 red sweet pepper cut into small cubes;
    1 cup broccoli florets;
    6-10 mushrooms cut in small pieces;
    1 grated carrot;
    1 cup edamame;
    2 green onions cut in small pieces;
    1-2 tablespoons of olive oil;
    Juice from 2 lemons;
    Salt
    Mix well all the above and…enjoy a healthy and nutritious salad! ☺️

      Thank you my dear! I had never had edamame before. I made this for supper last night but I used red quinoa because I didn’t have white.

      Reading about the health benefits of quinoa is fascinating–high protein quality with all essential amino acids, including lysine and isoleucine, making it complete protein (gluten-free for those who avoid gluten). The link below is filled with info.

    Very well said and from the bottom of your heart, my dear Carmen. God loves us unconditionally and HIS sacrifice was for all of us on Earth!
    Easter Sunday was a glorious SPRING sunny day! 😊 Did you go out for a walk? It was beautiful!
    I know that you like vegan meals. I have my own receipe for Quinoa with Raw Vegetables Salad. If you would be interested, I certainly will share it with you. Just let me know.
    The bunnies in your photos are so cute and your collection is really impressive. I’m sure your grandchildren enjoy those bunnies very much! 😊

      Thank you so much my dear Ileana! I would be happy if you share your quinoa/raw vegetable salad recipe! In the comments would be fine, in case some of my readers would also like to try it.

      I have read the very informative article you shared about why the Orthodox Christian Easter is at a different time. I’m quite impressed and think we should celebrate at the same time as the Jewish Passover (as has happened in 2010, 2011, 2014 and will happen in 2017 (but, after that, not again until 2034).

      After all, that is the time that the first Easter took place and has a significant meaning.

      Thanks again! I have included the article for anyone to check out.

      Blessings!🌷🌷🌷

    A happy Easter to you, Carmen!! Thank you for linking to my blog! Today, I’m cooking up a vegan sweet potato lasagna, but pasta puttanesca would be wonderful too, wouldn’t it? Today’s weather down here looks a little somber, but no snow or crackling branches! I wish you could have seen it yesterday. The buds are popping, and I’m sending spring up your way! Just hold on 🌷😛🌷

      My pleasure Susan! I am the one to thank you for taking time to share your delicious recipes and extensive research you have done on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, of course, you and your husband are living proof of what it has done for your health.

      We enjoyed a sunny, mild Easter Sunday but it turned rainy and cold again today with a bitter wind. Thanks a bunch for the flowers! I’m holding on! 😛

      Happy spring! 🌷🌷🌷

    Just come from church and a lovely service for Easter. love all your bunnies, you got quite a collection here …I can spot a golden Lindt Easter chocolate bunny in your photos…. and the bunny with the red jumper and green trousers looks familiar, I think my sister had one like that but ours was a bit tattered. I do remember the face and the striped socks. I wonder where that bunny is now, need to ask my sister, she will be coming in a a weeks time when I come back from seeing my mum.
    Happy Easter to you Carmen!

      Ahhhh you noticed the Lindt bunny, very observant my dear! He was a gift from one of my students. The bunny with the red jumper and green trousers is from Germany, a gift from my father’s aunt that she gave to my son. Please show him to your sister.

      Happy spring! 🌷🌷🌷

    Now, too, the Queen of the bunnies … What a wonderful collection of stuffed animals, is another sign of your tenderness and sensitivity. The photos of your landscape are beautiful. Photos from your dance at the church, dressed in white, are very special to me. They are one of the first images that made me discover that you were special, different woman. In those pictures I imagined your delicate movement, your sensitivity, your softness, and your caring manner of loving God. Beautiful, delicate, elegant and committed, you’re the most wonderful woman! Happy Easter, dearest Carmen! Spring will soon warm your wonderful skin!

      Easter Sunday was sunny and pleasant but today a bitter cold wind has brought rain and miserable weather.

      Happy spring! 🌷🌷🌷🌷

    Hi Carmen,
    I really love this post, I share the same thoughts because Eastern is more than rabbits and eggs, it’s the time to remember the immense love that God has for us through the sacrifice and resurrection of his son, it’s also the time that the God’s nature re-born with new hopes, the time a new life rises from the hardest times, and the time as you said to share that love with family and friends with a good meal, and dancing or singing to our Lord is a way to express our joy on Him. Love your bunny collection, and your dancing outfits and despite I am not 100% vegetarian I will try the recipe. By the way I don’t like the taste of lamb and porc so I don’t them 🙂
    Have a Happy Eastern !!

      I hope you will like the vegetarian recipe. Susan has many delicious and nutritious recipes.
