WHY? … because they have compassion.
This is the 19th year of Kitchener’s German Christmas market. I have been going to the Christkindl Market every year. I was so happy to spot these fashionable ladies wearing faux fur.
This is Joy, a Christmas angel, with her gorgeous faux fur cape! In her 50s, Joy looks fabulous in her golden leggings and I admire her style. Meeting her was a pleasure and it turns out we have more in common than fashion–she speaks German!
Here’s a fashionista wearing a lovely leopard faux fur coat. I stopped her in her tracks and asked if I could take a photo of her for my fashion blog, not only to promote fashionable women, but also show that faux fur is fabulous. FASHION WITH COMPASSION!
One of the fun things about the Christmas market is running into friends. My dear friend Sharon has been dancing with me for many years and always looks beautiful. She’s a grandmother (again) and proves that style has nothing to do with age. (That’s a faux fur collar.)
I bought this faux suede jacket with faux fur trim. I love the detail of laces on the pockets, cuffs and back. I always make sure it is fake. There are companies that use real dog and cat fur, please be careful when buying anything that looks like fur.
My grandchildren have a great time at the Christkindl market, too!
The miniature train town is a treat for all ages.
Lovely looks. I’m so happy to see so many fashionistas embracing cruelty-free styles. It’s the only way. Real fur looks great…on the animals!

Absolutely RIGHT!!! Real fur only looks good on the animals it belongs to!!
With fake fur we have the look without cruelty.

After some time of absence, I am again enjoying visiting your blog…keep up the good work of spreading the message of compassion. When in Spain , Janet bought several cork products as gifts for friends and a cork belt for me. Yeah, another animal-free product that I can wear.

Welcome back Bob! Happy that you are buying animal-free products, it is easy when we try and gives us peace in our hearts to know we are helping to make a better world.
Thanks for stopping by!

That is disgusting that some companies use dog and cat fur. Already bunny fur bothers me. Well…any kind of fur really.

I’m so glad you have compassion Suzanne! I believe if women witnessed the slaughter of the animals they are wearing, many (if not most) would not wear fur.
I hope we’ll see the day when wearing fur will be as unthinkable as eating a family pet.
Stay warm!

it’s horrible to think that furs can also be made with dogs and cats. Cruelty can’t be in fashion … I dream a different world for animals and human beings

It warms my heart when I see women (and men) who care!
Thank you for caring! May we see the day when all this cruelty stops–a better world for animals and human beings!

Thank you Ute! I love to show how fashion can be fun without cruelty, and that animals should not have to suffer a horrible death for “fashion.”
The Christmas markets are wunderbar, but not quite as magical as in Germany. I’ve only been once to a Christmas market in Germany.
