Once upon a time I lived near Dinkelsbühl in Germany. Memories come flooding back as I walked down the steps leading into this charming town.

This medieval town is enchanted. It is a fortified city with walls all around. Walking on the cobblestone streets with gingerbread houses and castle towers that look like they were inspired by fairy-tales, is like stepping into the pages of a storybook. Hard to believe people actually live here!
If it wasn’t for the cars and people dressed in modern clothes you would think you are time-traveling! This picturesque place is a photographer’s delight!
It feels like the set on a fantasy movie. There’s magic around every corner. I even saw the Little Mermaid. Her hair is vibrant scarlet and she has the most beautiful smile.
She took a photo of me.
Even though we just met on the pages of this fairy tale, we sat down on the steps to chat and became instant friends.

No neon signs anywhere to be seen; every sign is beautifully hand-painted calligraphy on the walls of the buildings. Wooden shutters frame the windows and flowers adorn the window sills.
I bought a new Elisa Cavaletti blouse with unique buttons.

If there’s a prince and a princess somewhere in this little thousand year old town, I’m sure …

You add to the local charm …great pictures as always …. your bracelet and sandals add enough colour to enhance the white.

We had a hand sign painter at Wasaga Beach when I grew up…..he did Dad’s business signs.
(The weather ensured that he had repeat business.)
You must have traveled with more than 1 suitcase …..at least, to come home with your purchases. hahaha ….

You look gorgeous in that beautiful Elisa Cavaletti outfit! I love the pictures of those charming German towns you spent your memorable vacation! They remind me of Garmisch-Partenkirche in Bavarian Alps (not very far from Munchen) or Salzburg in Austria where I had the chance to see the house where Mozart was born.

It’s wonderful to be in a town without neon lights or huge commercial signs. Meeting a “real” mermaid was amazing!

Another beautiful town , I say. One I don’t know. I do love all the colourful houses and the beautiful flowers are just so lovely! It is really like in a fairy tale! And meeting and befriending a real Mermaid… you are in luck 🙂

I know Starnberg, my sister lived there for some years, she is not that far away from there now. I like the lake, feels like holidays for me when I am there!

These great photos make me want to travel, travel, travel! Love the new outfit you bought, especially the leggings.
The thought of all handpainted non-neon signage is wonderful. I would want to be a sign painter in a town like that. I’d live happily ever after! Or, live as a cobbler. I love that idea too.

Thank you Joni for joining me on my travels! You would paint the town if you lived there! A cobbler could make a small fortune mending heels. I wore flats, this is not the place for stilettos!

Love all your pics, I also have relatives in Germany in Hamburg and Bremen but I was there once when I was a child so I don’t remember too much but watching your pics is like travelling to a real 3D fairy tale and you look wonderful in all your outfits; I love the fresh smile of real “Mermaid Princess”. genießen Sie Ihre Reise in Deutschland !

Thank you so much! I didn’t make it to Hamburg or Bremen, in fact, I have never been there, perhaps someday. Yes, the REAL mermaid in my post is gorgeous and her smile is enchanting!
