Sunflowers in September

First day of autumn.

Autumn is lovely time of year: pleasant temperatures, leaves changing to glorious colours, sunflowers in the meadows, harvest time and the harvest moon. It still feels like summer at the moment, although the days are growing noticeable shorter with each passing day.

I love sunflowers and black-eyed Susans

Perfect weather for bike-riding with my grandson today and going for walks in the woods or along the river path.

Now if only winter would last one month–like Christmas to the end of January–and then spring returns, that would make me as happy as a kitten rolling in catnip!

moonHope you have a chance to watch the Supermoon eclipse on Sunday, September 27th!! It won’t happen again for another 18 years!

Happy autumn to everyone!

What can I say some 3 1/2 months after the post. I am certainly enjoying the sunflowers on this blustery, wintry day. Your bright yellow pants highlight the sunflowers.
Neil Young….Harvest Moon…..very danceable …. a great listen when not dancing.

Hello, again! (Sorry it’s been so long … on hiatus for the summer because of a prolonged bad mood but it’s all over now!) Darling outfit on you, of course. What a great idea for showing a bag! Gotta remember that. Perhaps I’ll use a chair.

I’d miss winter too much if it was spring all the time! I love the freshness, the mystery of the hidden promise under loamy soil, the dramatic gray skies we get here, the hearty foods and hot steamy drinks. And the great fabrics and textures I love. Summer dressing is hard on a figure like mine … I need all the seasons to stay balanced!

GRRRREAT to see you back dear Jan! “Figure like mine” ? What are you talking about? You look fabulous!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a white Christmas and the magic of freshly fallen snow that glitters in the moonlight on Christmas Eve. I enjoy tobogganing with my grandchildren watching the thrill on their faces! However, by the end of January, I’ve had enough of this wonder and it’s too darn COLD!!! Guess I’m just a California girl at heart living up north and wondering why. *SIGH*

Happy “pre-autumn” shopping my dear! 🙂

Thank you Tracey! We are still enjoying lovely summer weather here in Southern Ontario, warm enough to go to the beach! I LOVE IT!!! So great because I still haven’t worn all my summer clothes yet.
