How to Wear Pajama Pants in Public

Le ChateauPajamas pants are not just for sleeping at night or lounging at home in the daytime. The new trend since the new millennium is to wear them in public.

It’s so comfortable wearing loose, lightweight pajama pants because it feels like I’m not wearing anything. In hot weather these pants are cooler than shorts or capri pants.

While shopping at Le Chateau (Canadian clothing store) looking for a red dress for the Rumba performance dance I am learning, I got sidetracked and found these pajama-style pants.

Black and white always gets my attention and this fabulous print had me sold.

I wore a black top for a dramatic look: silver jewellery and silver stilettos.

And a white top for a summery look.

From shopping to the playground with my grandson, these are perfect.

Great pants for pole dancing.

He’s not only a great photographer, but he teaches me tricks on our bikes on the way home from the park.

I now have 5 pajama pants in my wardrobe. And all of them are black and white.

I would never wear frumpy, flannel pajama pants, not even to sleep.  The important thing is the fabric and pattern. Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh belong in bed. However, there are classy prints that make wearing PJ pants in public a fashion statement as well as being convenient and comfortable. Add some bling, accessories and pretty shoes to complete the outfit; making it stylish to wear in the house or on the go.

What’s your opinion?

WOW Carmen, you’re a dare devil on that bike! Or should I say you’re a very fashionable dare devil on that bike. Those PJ pants look amazing! Of course comfort is an added bonus to them already being stylish. I might even consider a look something along these lines for me.

Thanks for sharing your amazing fashion and youth.

Thank you Brian, the trick is not to make them look like hey-I’m-wearing-my pajamas. 😉 Men wear floral Hawaiian shirts and printed shirts, why not pants? Soft, lightweight fabric is the key to comfort and coolness in summer. Black and white is my favourite combo, but I am looking for a tartan pair, preferably Blackwatch. I love tartan …

Thank you Bob! You are quite right, you saw my new pants in dance class this week! It’s important that P.J pants are somewhat in disguise, they must keep people guessing or better yet, not even know. I don’t want a look the says, hey-I’m-wearing-my-pajamas-in-public.

      Have fun dancing tonight!

On line that is an idea! The thing is though, I am tall and usually have extra long leg. So I need to find some long ones or then shorter more over the ankle otherwise it looks silly. I will check it out…. 🙂

I just love your playground pics with your grandson! So I’m wondering, are pajama pants the same thing as palazzo pants? I really like these on you, and especially like the 3rd photo in the grouping. I think you have just convinced me to look for a pair!

Thank you Karen! Palazzo pants have wider legs than pajama pants but they can be the same fabric and look similar. Some pajama pants are narrow, but palazzo pants are always wide. I have two pairs of palazzo pants, one is lace and the other is cotton.

You will love them! The comfiest fashion trend!
