Celebration of the Swans

The Parade of the Swans is the official sign of spring in Canada. It takes place in the charming city of Stratford on the Avon River.

I wore white for the occasion, with a pop of red: sunglasses and sandals (first time wearing sandals this year!). White doubled-breasted hoodie is from Hudson’s Bay, white cargo pants from Spanner.

Every year the swans of Stratford march from their winter home, along the path to the scenic Avon River in Southern, Ontario. Crowds gather to watch these awesome birds strut by.

The Stratford Pipers are heard for miles around and it is a family affair.

Although I’m not a swimmer–prefer to stay on the bank of the river–I love water.

My grandchildren enjoyed the day with lots of fun activities for children of all ages.

And with colourful crocuses bursting from the soil, yes, Spring has come to Canada!

    Delightful family, beautiful generations, all! Lovely to have a day like you did. Very cool in all white. Great cargos … not a bit droopy, cut just close enough for a surprisingly flattering fit! So cute sandals … red! Perfect.

    Stratford is one of my favorite cities in Ontario! I’m happy you posted these pictures reminding me of the swan parade and the beauty of spring in Stratford. You look so gracious in white!

    Sounds like a great day out Carmen, Lovely in white. I wonder how do the swans though keep this day in the calendars and walk down the road???? 🙂 Great to spend the day with family you all enjoyed the day I can see. Beautiful in white like the swans!

      Oh how sweet of you dear Joni! I do love white and I went shopping yesterday for white skinnie jeans, they didn’t have my size so I will keep looking. Do you ever wear all white? I’m preparing another post on white outfits and would love to include you!

      Thank you so much Jess! I love white and that’s the fun of fashion, we can change our colours from day to day. I would not do well working somewhere that uniforms must be worn. 😦
