My new cape will be perfect for milder temperatures in Seattle. I’m going to visit my daughter and experience my first ever clothing exchange! Jean has invited all her friends and I’m so excited to meet them.
This is my traveling outfit, my new top that I bought at Reitmans in December. I got a bit very carried away with buying tops recently, it’s not my fault that there are so many beautiful clothes on sale! Red booties from the 80s once belonged to Jean.
The black velvet roses caught my eye, I love the different textures of this top, with black chiffon fabric sewn on the hem making it look like it’s layered with a blouse.
These booties are faux suede, with laces and gray knitted cuffs.
Which booties should I wear–red or black?

Hey, it is not red or black booties….how about red one time…..black the next…..by the way…..keep track….ha ha ha.
As always, your blog is just delightful…always so uplifting ……you have a way of elevating the happy endorphins.
Assuming that you do not have time to go out dancing, are you and Jean dancing “in the kitchen”? I think you once blogged about some dance machine you enjoyed there on a previous visit.

Red! Definitely red! So glad red won!! I would so love to have another pair of red boots, like the ones I had 23 years ago! But I haven’t been able to get another, yet. Still hoping!

Hi Carmen, I love both colors, but I would choose the red for that pop of color. Love the floral top and the sleek black pants on you. I love florals not matter what the color. YOu look lovely as usual!!

Thank you so much Max! Red was the winner! I love red shoes and I’d buy all my shoes in red, but they don’t always come in red. Besides, I need black too, so it goes with pink and orange and colours that clash with red. Oh the woes of a fashionista! It’s not easy, but it’s FUN!

Thank you Rebecca! The weather is so mild in Seattle. I’ve seen women with bare legs and sandals! I didn’t even need my cape on yesterday; you’ll see in my next post that I’m carrying it.

Have fun with your daughter. I just love the black boots, so my style with the knitted cuffs. I wear similar ones today old ones from my mum suede with faux fur on them.

Thank you Suzanne! My cape is perfect for Seattle, I could even take it off yesterday, the weather is so mild. I bought the cape at Reitmans for $40 and while in an expensive boutique yesterday with gorgeous designer clothes, the saleslady commented how beautiful my cape was.
